How do you make sure the colour stays in the flower? They often go brown. :< Still gonna join though. I love this swap idea!!!

Thanks. I am glad you joined. I honestly am not sure how to keep them from going brown. Ive never had that problem. I think Michaels crafts store sells floral preserver though. That might help.

Hi! I am new to swap-bot...never heard of it til today. Sure sounds like a lot of fun. I am a pressed flower artist and would love to meet and exchange flowers/leaves with others.

If we had Michaels craft stores in Australia it would definitely help! I'll try to suss it out in the meantime. Thanks for responding. :)

Hi i just joined . i am a flower presser. Thanks for this cool swap! It does matter on the flower, and humidity has a lot to do with the colors too. the drier you keep them and out of direct sun they can stay pretty a long time. check out some of my pics on my blog http://flowersbyterica.blogspot.com/ I even have a blog to teach making presses! peace, terica

if you're going to be pressing these now, will there be enough time for them to thoughly dry before mailing? i've pressed them before but have left them for a long while to dry.

Mine are always ready pretty quickly... but I usually do leaves, and flowers have more moisture in them than leaves.

Hey all, Just came across this swap and what a lovely idea - but just check that your country allows incoming plant material, I know mine doesn't :(
