Description:

Let It Snow! Create a simple art journal celebrating winter.

This project calls for 2 pieces of card stock, folded in half. Bind the pages however you like (staples, ribbon, brads).

Contents of journal to include:

  • Front Cover - "LET IT SNOW"

Pages in any order...

  • Picture of yourself in scraped paper winter wear

  • Recipe/description of your favorite hot drink

  • Write about a snowy or icy memory

  • Collage/draw/scrap a snowman

  • Cover a page with snowflakes - can be hand cut, punched, doodled, sequins, etc.

  • Take a poll: Mittens or Gloves? Ask 10 people.

  • Back cover - your name, your swap-bot name, swap name

Have fun with this! I'm allowing plenty of time to think about it and sign up, giving plenty of time to complete it. Hope you enjoy this snow-y swap!

Since this is not profile based, you can start right away. Create a journal that will make your partner smile! Extras are not required, but your best effort is appreciated. PLEASE RATE. Happy Swapping!!!

I bumped the sign up date and the send date by a week to push it out a little further after the holidays. Also, since there is a fear of flaking for the art journal swaps, I will angel this if necessary. So sign up!!!!

If you have any questions you can leave them here or send me a PM!

What size do you have in mind for the cardstock? Businesslettersize folded in half or smaller?

Is it okay for the poll to ask more than 10 people :) I started one with some friends, cause I had in mind, to ask a minimum of 10 :) and I have already a lot more.

Business size folded in half is perfect! If it has to be just slightly smaller to save on postage, I'm always up for that :) And ask as many people as you want, just a minimum of 10.

Oh, and can it be more than 2 pages? I tend to get carried away when it comes to journaling.

Can I ask my friends on Swap-bot? I live in the South and no one has much of an opinion on the matter...not even me come to think of it. LOL.

LadyStephanie 12/10/2009 #

Hee hee, I think that's a great idea @grimmlynn! And if you need more pages to convey your artistic ideas, I say the more the merrier! Great questions, BTW :D

I got some very cute stuff and I was wondering, how I can cramp everything in. But now with the option of more pages...off she goes

People seem to worry about being flaked on for the art journal swaps. I've been flaked on for an art journal too. So I will angel if necessary - but it won't be necessary :)

grimmlynn 12/20/2009 #

Me again! Could I make mine in quarters? Like 1/4 of a sheet so there would be more 'pages'? It will still be at least 2 pages of card stock. It will actually be more because I journal/create like I talk...too much! LOL.

LadyStephanie 12/21/2009 #

@grimmlynn you can add as many pages as you like. And I don't have a problem with 1/4 sheet size. My thought was to provide plenty of space to be creative while keeping it so it would fit in a 6 X 9 envie. So if you want to just add more pages to the larger size, that's okay too.

I was soooo detailed in the swap requirements to make sure that everyone would understand what was expected and include enough in their journals to make their partners happy.

Seems like everywhere I go I see something else that would be perfect for this little art journal. If you have ideas just spinning around in your head, by all means add more pages :)

Okay, partners have been assigned! Thank you for joining this swap. These are going to be the cutest journals!!! Happy Swapping!
