Description:

I used to participate regularly in the Notecards to Go monthly group swap called "Getting to know you." Basically it was a way to reach out to two group members and write a little something about your life. It was friendly and not stressful and not too time consuming and also very fun. They have not had one of these swaps for a long time and since I actually now spend a bit of time participating in this group, I thought this swap would be a nice way for us all to get a little closer over time - that is, if members want to participate this time, and on an on-going basis.

So, for this swap, all you need to do is write a little note (a paragraph or two) to your partners by the send by date. That's it. I would suggest writing something about what is happening right now in your life, maybe what you had for dinner, what you bought when you went shopping, what book you are reading now - that sort of thing. If you write about what is going on in your life currently, then it will be easier to remember in case you get the same partner again next time. You can also send your standard penpal introductory letter if you want to, but it is not necessary.

The note can be written on a notecard or stationery which can be handmade or store-bought. It can be hand written or typed, which ever is easiest for you (and most readable for your partners). I get great joy from reading a letter written in beautiful handwriting but that is something that is often out of my own reach - either due to the tiredness of my hands or the lack of the time to do it right or the thoughts going so fast in my head that my hand can not keep up with them! Besides, you can put notecards into your printer, change your margins to match and then use "script" font to print them out. So, do as you please and have fun with this!

The usual swap-bot rules apply. Ratings of 4.8 and above needed.

I always have to say to my partners, don't feel bad if I type my notes -- believe me, you would REALLY feel bad if you had to read my handwriting.

Yes June. I'll try this one too.

June, I could read your 30 Wishes journal easily enough but you are right that is easier to read any type of standardized fonts. I really enjoyed reading the script font you used in your last letter. I think I will start using that myself. Most of my letters are o.k. for the first paragraph but the writing goes downhill from there as my hand gets tired or i get bored with it taking so long to get my thoughts on paper. I've become quite spoiled by my computer. I think this years I am going to start experimenting with fonts. This idea will go well with my other goals of learning some watercolor painting skills and calligraphy.

Many thanks to all who have signed up so far!
