Description:

My 7 year old says "Hey Mom - check out my ATC"

I told him he better get to tradin'...:)

This one is strictly for the kids - they gotta start somewhere! Your son/daughter/niece/nephew/friend's kid...any young one under the age of, oh, say...10...ish....or beyond I suppose...as long as they understand that there could be 2..3..4 yr. olds participating, who may not have the artistic ability of a seasoned 10+ year old.

They'll have 3 (three) partners, and they'll make each partner 3 (three) ATCs for a total of 9 (nine) ATCs (so they'll receive 9 ATCs back for a full sheet).

Please keep it to standard size ATCs (2.5 by 3.5) and of course any medium (crayons, pencils, paint, pudding...well, maybe not..:P).

Newbies welcome (with a filled out profile). 4.8+ rating. No 1's or 3's in the past 6 months. (PM me if you feel you were unjustly rated). (Total and utter public beratement is free and included in this swap if you flake on a child...but Im sure nobody would do that...:)...).

Let your little monkey's imagination run wild! Have fun!

(Imagine where your collection would be if you had started when you were 5!!)

If all goes well, Ill maybe do a monthly kid swap, maybe start themes and such...we shall see....:)

My son has agreed to angel, but lets try to avoid all that business..:)

If I can assist with anything, please PM me!

makes me wish my baby is a little more grown up for this! (:

Ahhh, dont wish those years away! Sometimes I wish mine were still itty bitty babies...:)

Hi, this is great. I have a 12 year old boy who is not on the artist side and a 14 year old girl...an artist in her own right...but loves children and wants to send out to other children. So they will split the task between them and this will count towards there homeschool art grade. or maybe we'll do it just for fun. They are excited to participate.

What a great swap! Thank you so much! I keep an eye out for swaps for my daughter, Aubrey who will be 3 in June, and usually they are for older kids or have unreasonable requirements. But this seems perfect and no huge expectations from the kids. I know mine will just be happy to "craft" with Mom and receive something in the mail.

This sounds great and my 7 yo daughter is really interested - as I am new, can you just clarify, do we enter under our (adult) username, or do they have to register separately? Thanks so much

SamitySam 04/15/2010 #

@blaacraft I PM'd you, but incase you check here first...you sign up under your account, and then your daughter completes the ATCs, and with your assistance, mails them to the partners that will be provided after the sign up date passes (3 ATCs to each of the 3 partners). If you have any other questions, please message me!...Have a great day!...:)

This is such a great swap!!! I just got into making ATC's, and was wishing I could get my son (4) to play long in his own arena!! :) This will be great fun, for sure!! (except I haven't told him that I've signed him up yet :-p)

SamitySam 04/18/2010 #

Thank you (and your son!) for joining! Im getting really excited to see some of these...:)

MamaBear 04/19/2010 #

Well he got real excited when I explained him about the whole project, so now I really can't wait to get him all set up :) I'm thinking we'll do it in 3 sessions, where in each one we make 3 similar cards (meaning same theme/technique). Think that might work well...

SamitySam 04/19/2010 #

Sounds fun! My son's ATCs so far have just been random ones, none of them similar or of the same theme...he just gets an idea and then sits and draws...its pretty awesome to watch...even if I have no idea what it is he drew...lol. Before we send them all out, Im going to arrange the nine and have them copied and framed...his first ATCs are almost on the same level as first word, first step, etc!...:)

MamaBear 04/19/2010 #

I like that :) First ATC's shrine almost ;-)

My son has just started to love making ATCs as well-he is 9 and has already made 3, I told him he needs to do 6 more, if it gets to be too much I will have my 12 year old daughter help as she is new to making ATCs as well.

SamitySam 04/21/2010 #

Glad to have you along...:)

My 3 kids are taking part. Is it ok for me to give my partners their 3 names so they get one each from every partner?
They will also send one each for every partner so "my" partners will get 3 ATC's from a 4,5y girl/ soon 6y boy and soon 8y boy.

Would that be ok? I don't want to sign in before I got answer.

I am sorry, wrote on the wrong place....
