Description:

The aim of this swap is to create a necklace, bracelet or brooch for your partner inspired by Victorian mourning jewellery. So that is 1 piece of jewellery to 1 partner.

This swap is restricted to necklaces, bracelets and brooches due to the fact that earring gauge and ring size varies. As it is a mourning piece obviously black will be the predominant, if not only colour.

I don't expect anyone to use Whitby jet, black enamel, onyx, black seed pearls or human hair as the Victorians did. Of course you can if you like (check with your partner about the human hair though). However, you could incorporate items such as black glass beads, lockets, old photos, black lace etc.

Please refer to your partners profile concerning any dislikes or allergies.

Create something beautiful that your partner would love to wear.

A rating of 4.9 or above is required to join this swap. Profiles will be checked before partners are assigned.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

aw, but I was planning on using seed pearls and/or human hair! Was trying to think of a way to encase the hair in casting resin so it wouldn't be gross...
Anyway, fun idea--watchlisting for now because of the quick turnaround time I want to make sure I can finish something in time.

OH! OH! I LOVE mourning jewelry! I saved hair from my brother and father when they passed, so some day I can make a hair piece in the Victorian fashion. This month is crazy for me, but if I can manage it, I will join. And no worries, I won't do a hair one, none to spare, as it were *grin

Seed pearls are fine. I just assumed they'd be expensive. As for human hair, that's something you'd need to check with your partner, but if they are OK with it go for it.

On watchlist for now, but really want to join.
And I personally would not mind human hair at all :)

Would it be 1 jewelry piece to a partner? Or would you be sending more?
