Description:

So I'll been wanting to do a patchwork blanket with my left over yarn but since I work full time I see that it will never get done so hence this swap.

So this is part 1 of a 12 part swap to make a 40X30 patchwork blanket/throw.

You will knit or crochet a 10X10 patch and mail it to 1 partner. You get two weeks to knit/crochet and send it out to your partner. Make sure you mail out your patch by Oct 2. Also include a little note about why you made the patch the way you did. The colors, yarn and stitch patterns are sender's choice, otherwise it wouldn't be a patchwork throw and wouldn't be interesting to look at. You can always look at your partners profile to personalize the patch if you want. Also please let your partner know if you have allergies to certain yarns. This is a great long term swap project that is wonderful for using up leftover yarn.

PLEASE NO FLAKERS. I will check profiles. This a time consuming swap so anyone with a rating of 4.0 and above is allowed. Sorry no newbies but I will make a hat swap for newbies.

Hi just a quick question. The send date above says September 19, but in the description it says to mail by Oct 2. I need to know so I know if i will have enough time to make the square.

I corrected it. When I setup the sway it I didnt read that the start date is when you need to have it mailed out by date.

Umm..this might be a silly question, but if we are making a 60 x 60 patchwork won't we need 100 squares? 10 down x 6" = 60" by 10 across x 6" = 60" are we to just incorporate the ten from this ongoing swap into our own patchwork blanket/throw?

I was thinking the same thing @BrooklynBridge )) Looks like in 10 weeks and sending only one square to one partner we will only end up with 10 blocks???

Sorry everyone I accidentally put down the numbers for a personal project. I've corrected it.

I am not familiar with the term "patchwork blanket". Is this the same as an afghan with different squares?

yes it is
