May 4 - My mother passed away today at 4:00pm. I will be getting out my swaps as soon as possible, but might be late.
My daugter is now going to out-patient therapy. No more in-home therapy. She still used her walker on occassion, but uses her cane most of the time. It is great seeing her being able to do things for herself again. Still am keeping care givers for her during the week - gives my time with my parents and a little freedom. Also, with 6 cats I have to leave my crafting supplies at my parents. I think that one cat can smell yarn if I am working on something.
NOTICE: I spend part of my day at my parents house. They are 94 and 93. I help with things around the house. During this time, I have a paid caregiven with my daughter. Around 3, I return to her house to let the caregiver go and to spend the night. Swapping is my main enjoyment outside of the family. I WILL NOT FLAKE. I have had some issues about late mailing of swaps. I sometimes have a problem getting things to the post office, but I do not flake. I do swapping for the fun of making items and the joy of receiving mail.
ATTENTION: mystery readers. I am reading books by Carol O'Connell. I was sent one of her books in a swap and enjoyed it. I have since gotten her other 9 books and finishing the last one. They are great!.
I taught public school for 32 years: 8th grade math and science; High School Algebra 1. I retired June 13, 2007. I'm staying with my parents to help care for my mother who fell in October of 2007 and had a hip replacement. She, also, has Alzheimers. Someone has to be with her 24/7. .
I love country music - especially the Oldies. My favorites are Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride,
I love mystery books. I adore Kathy Reichs, Jefferson Bass, Patricia Cornwell (please do not send any. I have all of their books) I like Judith Tarr's books. I have now found Jo Graham and really like her work.
Favorite Movies of all times: Gone with the Wind, all of the Star Trek movies with the original cast, Star Wars, any movie with Harrison Ford. Like the later movies of John Wayne (especially the comedies with Maureen O'Hara).
My favorite television shows: NCIS, CSI, Bones, Ciminial Minds, Cold Case, Without a Trace, V, Burn Notice, Leverage, Game of Thrones, Grim, Once Upon a Time Love to watch reruns of Star Trek and those listed above.
My favorite crafts are crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, cross-stitch, making ATCs, recycling cards into postcards and ATCs. I love to try new things- that is why I like Swapbot.
I like pandas, cats, rainbows, animals of all kinds, insects (I know that these are animals, but some people don't refer to them as such).
Actually I like just about everything. I love receiving mail!!!!!!!!!
I would like to explain the three 3s that I received.
The 3 was given because my partner said it was mailed 7 days after due date. I told her that I put it in the mailbox on June 2. She said that I lied because the postmark was June7. Let me explain "put in mailbox". When the swap is finished and ready to mail, I put it in the mailbox here at the house. I mark them sent on Swapbot. My father picks up the mail from the mailbox and takes it to the Post Office. I do not go to the Post Office except on special occassions because I stay with my mother. Why it took so long, I don't know. I believe that the time between June 2 and June 7 includes the weekend. We have a small postoffice. I am sorry about this.
The third ATC was on a loteria card. One these you put a number, name, and picture of the object. I did this. My partner did not like how I did the card. She stated that 3 stickers was not an ATC. The loteria called for a Nigro man. I found a sticker and 2 pictures of boys (little men) for my picture. I responded to her that I had meet the requirements and whether she liked it or not that I should get a 5.
