(This swap was inspired by @thehappyhoneybee 's Design a Character Calling Card Swap )

Swap description: The Business of Fairy Tales
Surviving in the land of fairy tale can be a complex business, so for this swap, you will send each of your partners business cards from 4 different fairy tale characters (or derived from 4 different fairy tale scenarios), helping them to build up an essential contact (or avoid!) list, for those inevitable times of need. Such as...? How about...

  • ...Fairy Godmothers Unlimited Γ’β‚¬β€œ wish fulfillment for the pure of heart; spells guaranteed until midnight
  • ...The Gingerbread Man Γ’β‚¬β€œ the runaway biscuit weight loss program!
  • ...Beans Talk Γ’β‚¬β€œ magic beans at magic prices
  • ...Pay the Piper Γ’β‚¬β€œ charmed music to free you from your woes

No cheating by using these, but you get the idea. The business could belong to a fairy tale's main character, or one of the unseen peripheral characters who surely play a part in the outcome of a story. Use your imagination!

In addition to 4 business cards, you should also include a flyer for one of the businesses you are representing. This gives you a chance to expand on services available, customer testimonies, additional illustrations etc.

Swap requirements

  • Send each of your 2 partners a set of 4 different fairy tale business cards plus 1 flyer
  • Flyer should be minimum A6/quarter-size
  • Flyer may be printed on card/postcard or paper, single or double-sided, folded or flat
  • Flyer may be text only or text plus illustration.
  • Business cards should be approx. business card size, but anywhere roughly between 7.5 x 5cm and 10.5 x 7.5cm is fine
  • Cards may be single or double-sided, sender's choice
  • Each card should include business name, a clear indication of the business/services offered, and means of contact (this can be interpreted loosely). Be creative with how you present the information!
  • Cards may be text only or text plus illustration.
  • Cards may be individually hand-drawn/hand-written, scanned/photocopied, or prepared using PhotoShop or similar.
  • Business cards and flyers must be your own original work but may include copyright free clip art & illustrations
  • Please make sure your own profile references at least 2 different fairy tales. Although this swap is not profile-based, it still might help inspire your partner/s! (However, please do not rate your partner down for not matching your personal favourites, as it is not a requirement.)

Where to start?

The obvious bit
As well as meeting requirements as outlined on group homepage participants must have no late swaps on their dashboard, no 3 ratings in the last 3 months, and no 1 ratings in the last 12 months. I will check before assigning partners, so please contact me if you are concerned. I will take extenuating circumstances into account, but the happy swapping of the majority is the most important factor.

Very fun! :)

The edited part of the swap description is just to keep the swap in line with the requirements for joining the group, with the addition of the requirement that your own profile should list a couple of favourite fairy tales. Thank you! :)

Is it 2 or 3 partners? Both are listed.

Oops sorry for the typo - it's 2 partners. Have now amended. :)

I have to say I'm so excited about this swap... and thank you for all the links for info and ideas!

Sigh - as much as I hate it, I'm going to have to drop out of this swap. I"m having a terrible time manipulating images without Photoshop or Publisher. Just not happy with how things are looking, so I'm bowing out and will join a different swap. Have fun... I'm so jealous!

Would a tale from Arabian Nights be acceptable?
