Description:

OK, I finally got a sample card finished using the eggshall mosaic as a background paper. Plus lots more examples of this technique. A second swap has been requested and with Easter (and colored eggshells) right around the corner I figured I would get this posted.

Here is the original swap with full instructions

Here are lots of examples of different color combinations if you find just white and one color boring or too limiting. Production descriptions are included with each picture.

Here is the blank I used for my ATC

Here is a finished ATC

Here is a recycled food box - just to show how carried away I am getting with this technique!

White and turquoise

White and orange

Brown and green

Brown on copper mirror

Scrap brown makes great "sand"

Here are a few new hints I have discovered by playing with this technique:

Start out with a colored background paper! Then when you are wiping the paint off the eggshells you don't have to worry about wiping paint of the background paper as much. Besides you can get cool combos of paper vs. paint colors.

Brown eggshells are fun! Colored eggshells will be even better!

If you like the look of white edges on your eggshells, don't paint and wipe. Just glue down the eggshells then seal when dry. There is a bit less depth (because no paint get down in the egg's surface imperfections) but it is a look you might want to explore.

Add extra color with other inks, stains, glimmer mists, paint dabbers, etc..

Swap Requirements:

One ATC for each of 2 partners (2 ATCs total)

Must use an eggshell technique somewhere on the finished card (as the background or as a major element of the card)

Open theme (but please be considerate and avoid your partner's dislikes if any are posted on their profile)

Minimum rating of 4.8, no 1s or 3s in the last six months, and then ONLY with an explanation.

NO FLAKING and please be sure to rate!

Have fun!
