I'm a knitter, crocheter and budding seamstress who has found herself back in school all of a sudden. With all of this free time, the crafts are pouring out! :D
I have a not-so-secret love affair going on with the music of Nirvana, REM, and Jack Johnson.
Also like Feist, Lenka, The Beach Boys, Van Morrison, the Beatles, Josh Groban, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Jason Mraz and others.
I looooove period English novels. Austen? Yes, please! the Brontë sisters? Triple yes!
I also very much adore children's books (except for a few, the more whimsical the better)
I really love Lord of the Rings, Hans Christian Andersen, Harry Potter, etc.
I love foreign films, Pedro Almodovar's works, Pan's Labyrinth, Jeanne Dielman, En La Cama, Amelie, Un Long Dimanche de Fiancailles, pretty much anything Monty Python, and so many many others.
I also really love American Classics, Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Citizen Kane, Gone With the Wind, Roman Holiday, blah blah blah. :)
I love Nightmare Before Christmas backwards and sideways. Love it.
I have been knitting since I was 12 years old and consider myself to be advanced. Currently, I've been really enjoying basic patterns that don't require all of my attention.
I have begun crocheting as well. I'll admit that I'm completely addicted to Japanese crochet books as they are well charted and generally much more beautiful (in my opinion anyway!)
I do some sewing. I haven't make clothing yet but I'm working on my first quilt (yay! But I may be nuts because I've decided to make it a king size quilt!) I like sewing things for friends and I'm totally open to a private sewing related swap if anyone wanted. I like sewing box bags and reusable snack baggies and tons of other stuff. I also cross stitch occasionally.
Mustard/Aqua; Red/Aqua; Aqua/Lt. Grey or Dk. Grey; Coral Red/White;
I love receiving sewn stuff. I can felt and knit and crochet just fine and as a result have way more knit/crochet/felted stuff than I can use. I will not, however, turn down anything handmade. :)
I do not scrapbook. I don't need any scrapbooking stuff. (This might never be a needed piece of info as I don't really have any plans to join a scrapping related swap, but you never know...) If scrapbooking stuff is sent, I'll likely reuse it for parts of other swaps. No offense meant.
Yarn related, I use only natural fibers. I figure that if I'm going to spend the time to make it, I'm going to use the best materials I can afford. Plus, I don't like the feel of synthetics. :)
I tend to avoid neon colors, metallics and most pastels. I like jewel tones, rich saturated colors and the what not like that. I seem to be developing a small taste for delicate florals. I'm still not super gung-ho, but I do like some of them.
I love notebooks and cute office supplies (Not that I have an office, but, you know!) I really love stationery. Quirky is a good word to use for me.
