About Me

I love to read and watch tv in my spare time (sometimes even at the same time). I also enjoy scrapbooking and knitting (though I don't do as much as I should). My favourite colour is purple, my favourite animal is the orca, and my favourite thing to eat is chocolate ( I have some almost every day). I have a debilitating addiction to lip balm (especially Lip Smackers), and usually have at least three tubes of it on the go at a time. I own an extensive selection of socks, all of which are patterned and coloured in bright and fun ways. I think I own three pairs of plain white socks, which are only worn when nothing else is clean (which, thankfully, doesn't happen very often).

Favorite Music

My favourite group of all time is the Backstreet Boys. I can listen to them for hours and have seen them in concert six times. However, my taste in music is wide-ranging. My iPod contains songs from all decades and all styles: Elvis, the Beatles, the Monkees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tiffany, New Kids on the Block, Our Lady Peace, Puddle of Mudd, Fall Out Boy, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, S Club 7, Spice Girls, Aqua, Amanda Marshall, Jewel, Alanis Morrisette, Eminem, and Nelly, just to name a few. I'll listen to anything atleast once.

Favorite Books

Where to start, where to start...I love the "Harry Potter" series by JK Rowling, and the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon. I also enjoy the writings of Dean Koontz, Sophie Kinsella, and Heather Graham. I have recently discovered Kate Morton, and am immensely enjoying her books. I'll read horror, suspense, historical fiction, fantasy, mystery, and chick lit. I've even read a romance novel or two in my lifetime. I also enjoy non-fiction nature books, especially ones about whales or animal behaviour and emotions.

Favorite Television

Tied for top spot: Supernatural and the Vampire Diaries. I also watch One Tree Hill, CSI, CSI:NY, Grimm, Ringer, Cougar Town, Big Bang Theory and Once Upon a Time. I am a huge tv junkie, and spend a lot of my time in front of the tube. I have the complete series of Friends, Dawson's Creek, The O.C. and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Women on DVD. I have nine seasons of Smallville, six seasons of Supernatural, seven seasons of One Tree Hill, and the first season of the Vampire Diaries. I hope to get LOST and Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD one day, too.

Favorite Movies

I am a big fan of chick flicks and rom-coms...basically anything with some humor and a happy ending. That being said, my all-time favourite movie fits into neither of those catergories. My favourite, favourite movie of all time is Free Willy (and anyone who has read my profile is probably not surprised by this). Some of my other favourites are:

*The Wedding Planner

*The Wedding Singer

*How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

*Harry Potter

*The Lord of the Rings

I like...

*orcas (and other whales, but these are my favs)

*Backstreet Boys

*hot chocolate

*chocolate in general (especially with peanut butter or mint)

*Harry Potter

*lip balm

*fun socks

*cooking and baking, especially when trying new recipes

*reusable shopping bags

*peach and vanilla scents

*anything with sugar in it

*hand lotion (the small ones that fit in your purse)

*Christmas (music, decorations,everything)

Please do not send...

*anything pink

*anything that's really "girly" or "cutesy" (i.e. butterflies, kittens, puppies, etc)

*onions and tomatoes (though I hope no one would send me those in the mail)

*coffee (or coffee flavoured anything)

*Disney anything

*stationary (cards, envelopes, writing paper, etc)

Comment: I'm really sorry for the delayed rating. Things have been a bit crazy around here. But I did get your list and think all three books sound great! I may have to look for "Freeing Keiko" the next time I'm in the library.

Comment: Thanks for your reading list. Sometimes those nonfiction books that are kind of hard to get into and read turn out to be the ones you remember the longest. That might be true with the whale book.
Comment: Thanks!
Comment: Meghan, Thanks for your book log. I really like the color pictures of the covers that you put in your log. I saw several that stood out to me that I wouldn't have picked up on my own so I'm looking forward to reading them. Happy readnig in 2011!

Comment: The recipes look very good. Unfortunately we do not have Jell-o in Denmark nor any product that resembles it. In future when sending international it is better to send recipes that does not contain any semi-manufactured items or only semi-manufactured items that are easily made by one self. :)
