I live in central Oregon with my husband, my 5 year old daughter Lucy and 2 year old son Lincoln. We are a homeschooling family and we work from home so life's a little crazy! But fun. :) We share our home with a small flock of backyard chickens, 3 German Angora bunnies and our corgi/heeler mix dog Roxie.
My favorite crafts are knitting, spinning and sewing. Art and design are big drivers of mine. I love to be surrounded by beautiful things in all areas of my life. I love being outside & exploring nature, hanging out with my kids, working on design ideas for my etsy shops and figuring out resources to live as best and as naturally as we can on a shoestring budget - which is an art in itself, I think.
Bluegrass, indie music & folk. But a little of everything else too. :)
Too many to list, I love to read. My faves from way back are the Little House series and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
Amelie, Under the Tuscan Sun, Memoirs of a Geisha, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Lost in Translation, Anne of Green Gables 1 & 2, Gone With the Wind, Marie Antoinette, Chicago, Frida, Love Actually, Real Women Have Curves
My favorites right now are spinning, knitting, needle felting, sewing and anything involving natural materials! I'm a total fiber junkie. My husband and I are very into woodworking so you'd probably find me sanding and painting too; working on things for our etsy shop that we run together.
Favorites! - Vintage - especially things from the 20s through the 50s, mid century modern, cute Japanese things, being self sufficient and the "forgotten" arts and crafts, earthy things, yarn or fabric in natural fibers (cotton, wool, alpaca, silk, etc.), spinning fiber, country living, old textiles, anything handmade by you!
Not so Favorites - Swap packages where someone obviously didn't look at my profile and just seemed to send whatever they had lying around that they didn't want (I don't at all mind getting items that someone already owns, as long as they really think I'd like them or be able to use them), Disney or Looney Toons characters, USA themed stuff, cheap looking dollar store items, smoke smelling packages - blech.
My daughter Lucy is 5. I homeschool her & she's at a K/1st grade level. She loves to read, LOVES to draw, color and do crafts. Oh my goodness does that girl love her crafts. I swear, she trails bits of paper everywhere she goes. She loves anything sparkly, cool pens, crayons markers or pencils, butterflies, birds, horses, rainbows, paper, notebooks, craft supplies, hearts & bows, sharks, whales, "ocean stuff", dinosaurs, her American Girl doll, jewelry and hair clips and flowers. Her favorite colors are pink and purple.
My son Lincoln is 2 years old and it's been so much fun to see his personality evolve and grow over the last couple of years! He LOVES cars, trains, bulldozers & machines. He loves Thomas the Tank Engine. He's starting to really enjoy coloring and loves reading books. He really likes animals too, especially elephants, giraffes and farm animals.
I'm sort of a color fanatic. Anything and everything goes. I love unusual color combinations that really pop.
