What's Happening in my Life

2019 is here!! Updated 30 Oct 2019

30 Oct Wed: You guys are going to love this. On 2 Oct, I got the Flu, Pnemonia & Updated Shingle Shots-all same day. I recommend not doing that. I got seriously sick for 24 hrs not knowing that it wouldn't go on forever. Ok, next, I woke up with Bronchitis on 18 Oct. You would think, one of those shots would have killed that germ but NO. On the Nebulizer machine for a week & lost my voice entirely and had to miss Trunk or Treat. On my way to the Drs, got rear ended by a truck stopped at a road construction site. I pray that this is it for now. Since I missed all the Holidays last year 2018 with a 4 month bout of Bronchial Asthma. Looking forward to a better tomorrow. Hugs if you are reading:-)

7 Oct Mon: I am "Quote" am Taking a Break but signed up for Christmas Swaps so I am not removed. I will be back:-)

20 Sept TGIF: I have lost 15 lbs since we got the Pool.

15 Aug Thurs: Next Door Pool is open for exercising. My neighbor and I have gone together and had an above ground Pool installed. Spent 2 hrs totally enjoying and exercising in this 100 degree weather.

7 Aug Wed: Got 3 quotes for the New Air & Heat. Looks like $4000. My neighbors lent me a portable A/C unit until I get fixed. Now all that is in addition to the $1000 Out of Pocket for my new roof. Good thing the Cymbalta is working. Just keep going One Day at a Time, Solving One Problem at a Time. Today's problem. The "stupid" remote stopped working. 3rd time this year. I have to drive 20 miles one way to get a new one. Positive-taught myself Finger Looping from You Tube. Finished a cowl and a Cuddle Blanket.

3 Aug Sat: Tuesday got New Roof-beautiful; Wed A/C stopped working Fri told I need a new System. Yeah!

16 July Tues: So Far So Good.

10 July Wed: Taking me off Prozac after 30 years and put me on Duloxetine (Cymbalta)...Will See!

9 July Tues: Going to the Ellis Pain Clinic for assessment. Pray for me Swappers.

Exciting News: 4th of July- My neighbors just got a Pool. I am so happy because if you had not noticed-IT IS HOT! They adopted me the first year I moved here and have been a constant Blessing in my life.

The Girl Scouts (they get a Bronze Star) delivered my Library Box this week just in time for summer reading & enjoying. It is a refurbished paper box. They painted it bright colors w/flowers and put shelves inside.

Finally, breathing "normal" again. I have hired a Cleaning Svc to come in and deep clean my home. You could write your name in the dust/pollen. I tried but started coughing again.

I have been dealing with Bronchia Asthma since last Nov. 2 rounds of Steroids and I am now on a Nebulizer 3x a day. Bah Spring!

POSTCARD: For you: I read your Profile to try and send something you want. So, please, give me a hint at what you want. For me: I love State or Country PC; Map PC- . I like mine with a note/quote/recipe please & postmarked unless the swap sez differently. I love TOURISTY PC the best. Not really into the Vintage.^Thank you!

ESG: Quick Friendly profile comment: wendrfl Hi Linda! I hope you had a wonderful 'button' crafting Christmas season. There are so many cool things you can do with buttons.

I can understand the mail backlog at Christmas but it must be kind of cool living in a town named "Bethlehem".

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!

ariestess on Dec 13, 2018:

Hey there! Hope you're doing well today!

I really love that fruitcake recipe you listed here. I'm always leery of fruitcake, but your recipe sounds tempting.

And now, let me offer a kind of recipe in exchange, since I see you like Jello. This is actually household illness remedy we use. It's really good for when you have a sore throat, but we pretty much use it anytime we feel sick at all. It may be a placebo effect on the illness, but I don't care.

  1. Heat water hot enough to drink without scalding mouth/throat.
  2. Add 1/4-1/3 pkg of lime or lemon Jello to a mug and add the hot water, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Drink and repeated as needed.

Have a lovely day and rest of 2018!

"When autumn darkness falls, what we will remember are the small acts of kindness: a cake, a hug, an invitation to talk, and every single rose. These are all expressions of a nation coming together and caring about its people." -Jens Stoltenberg

“Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like. Author: Augustine
