GOOD NEWS! The thaw has come. (well partial thaw) but I was able to get out today and all swaps are up to date and sent out for the remainder of the year. Thank you all soooo much for your patience! They tell us it is just a few days respite and the very bad cold will be back next week.
Although I went to the post office today the swaps will probably have Monday's date on them because the collection man came and went while I was waiting in the queue but they are thankfully on their way now.
This snow we are having is something else! It took my sister 4 and 1/2 hours to get home from work when it normally takes 15 minutes! One of her colleagues just spoke to her and he has been on the road for over 10 hours for what should be a 45 minute journey. Looks like he's spending the night in his car. Schools. community rooms, etc. are opening up for people to spend the night in. Not too far away from me people are stuck just outside a hotel and they are asking people to bring food to anyone stranded near them.
It really is unprecedented. I have never seen so much snow in my life and probably never will again. Mobile networks are down and my computer has been playing up all night. It's supposed to ease at the weekend but till then it's coory up with your dog and drink hot chocolate. If you don't have a dog a teddy will do!
Sorry everyone. I still cannot get my swaps posted. There is no way I can get to the post office. The weather did get a bit better at the weekend (when the post office was closed) but today was worse that ever. It took my sister over 4 hours to get home today when it usually only takes 15 minutes. Shops, offices, schools are all closing. I have never seen snow like it in my lifetime. At times it's colder than in the Antartic. So I am sorry. I just don't know what to do but I am not a flaker and everyone will get their swap just as soon as I can.
APOLOGIES!
My apologies to anyone who is currently waiting for me to send a swap (I think there are two). They are here and ready to go but I am snowed in! Totally! Nothing is getting in out out of Eastfield where I live. There are no deliveries or collections at the moment so even if I did manage to trudge through the snow to the post office - we have to take everything we post to the post office. We don't have mail boxes outside like in the U.S. - it would be a pointless exercise because it wouldn't go anywhere and really I'm not fit enough to walk that far in knee high snow! - Very beautiful to look out at. I have never known so much snow!
Similarly if you are waiting for a rating from me it doesn't mean I've forgotten to rate or that your swap has gotten lost. It will be in a sorting office somewhere.

@instiches I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I loved making mine too and I am going to make some more as presents. I don't claim to have invented it 'cos I might have seen on line sometime. The older i get, the more I think there really isn't an original idea. Someone else will have thought of it before you. Just haven't discovered it yet. At least that's the way it is with me. LOL
