I'm a 32 year old in the US. I'm a writer, dancer, teacher, and artist.
I have 6 animals (2 dogs and 4 cats) at home. I can speak Latin and English fairly well and Spanish and Arabic less so. I am currently working on improving my Arabic and adding Mandarin Chinese and French.
My mom says that I truly have an "eclectic" taste in music. I love Irish music and classical music as well as classic rock, K-pop, R-rock, and EDM.
My favourite artists include Enya, Big Bang, Tchaikovsky, Natalie MacMaster, David Bowie, the High Kings, ....
I am a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz series, Harry Potter, and anything by Tana French.
I am a fan of scary stories, legends, and mysteries.
I am currently working on bettering my water colour skills. It is something my dad has done since I was little and it is something I've always wanted to do. I am fascinated with colour and how to change it and play with it.
I keep a bullet journal fairly regularly and I really enjoy creating and filling it with writing, art, and a variety of deco. For 2019 I am using a vegan Dingbat's A5+. For 2020, I will be using the same type of notebook.
I think my "style" probably tends towards a softer, more vintage look. I like to use colour themes for my spreads, but I am learning to experiment more. I have recently fallen in love with copper and rose gold and they are the overall themes for my bullet journal this year.
I love unique finds and get most of my goodies and supplies from a variety of places. I do get some interesting pieces from thrift, and antique stores (mostly older paper and things like that). I also enjoy exploring our local Dollar Trees. I have found their stationary to be of varying quality, but fun to explore. I also get a good deal of my regular supplies from Michael's, Etsy, and three subscription boxes from the US and Japan. I say all this to say... I enjoy having a variety of things to use from mixed media art to study notes to my bullet journal to my happy mail letters and packages.
I'm sure there is more, but I'm really not anti-much... except aforementioned avocado.
I decided to add this section for things that are "in the moment" about me. I recently started exchanging with a new pen friend and we discussed, rather than swapping general info about each other, to send what we had and we'd discuss updates to our happy mail after. I thought it was a nifty idea and thought I'd share some incidentals with everyone here:
I am always in school. I am currently enrolled in my second Master's program. Sticky notes run in abundance in my craft room, by my computer, in my bags... everywhere. I never say no to sticky notes. I prefer ones made from regular paper (not the plastic type stuff) so I can write and highlight on them.
I swap, send happy mail, letters, and I participate in postcrossings. So, I keep A LOT of postcards on hand and paper. I like to have a wide variety and am always asking people to bring me back blank ones from their travels.
I love music and playlists. I recently started making spotify playlists for my siblings (who live in other states) to send as part of care packages for them. I'd LOVE to hear your music recommendations.
we are currently watching The Blacklist, NCIS, and The Good Place, I love mystery shows and horror shows. We LOVED The Haunting of Hill House and can't wait until Season 2.
