What shall I tell you about me?! I love postcards and handpicked stories. Surprise me with a little anecdote of the everyday life. Combined with a picture on the back and a stunning stamp up in the right corner. Sounds perfect to me!
By the way I love everything from before the 1960s. I am always on the hunt for a vintage gem like snapshots of everyday life, newspaper comic strips, popular science charts & botanical sketchs, as well as cigarette cards or stamps. Oh and I am fan of gentlemen in suits, cocktails and pin ups, which make me smile.
At this point I have to admit that I am not a fan of touristic postcards, especially if they only show monuments. QR-code stamps belong to the same category *dull 'n' lifeless. Oh and I am not into zentangle or colouring-in things. I know it is big in fashion, but it simply doesnt inspire me. Sorry, I dont want to sound complaining.
Whatelse?! If there is time I dive into books. How to describe my taste? Imagine, Sarah Winman meets Zadie Smith for a coffee and from time to time people like Erich Kästner or Dave Eggers joining the conversation. Sometimes I just buy a book, because of the great cover. Oh and I have a weak spot for magazines. I cant leave the newsagent without buying the latest issue of The Economists 1843, frankie or Little White Lies.
Another thing I really enjoy is going to the cinema. You wonder what I have seen recently? Their finest, Miss Sloane, Dunkirk, The Circle, Table 19...Favorite movies?! Charlie Chaplin–The Kid, It's a wonderful Life, Mary Poppins...a bit newer...Life of Walter Mitty, Kingsman: The Secret Service and La La Land.
Well, I hope I could give you a foggy hint about myself. I am looking forward to hearing from you and even more to getting to know you. Smiles, Joana
PS.: Still unsure what to send? Well here are some more hints: elegance & simplicity - black coffee with a dash of hot milk - cherry crumble - spicy curries - harbours & deep blue sea - washi tape - polaroid with notes - Sheffield - Cape Town.
