I am a 36-year-old married amateur sewer from Georgia. I work as a school librarian during the day and as a mom to two crazy dogs and a wife to Hubby at night.
I listen to anything because we are a musical family, but I prefer adult contemporary, down tempo, progressive 80s and new wave, classic, alternative folk, pre-70s jazz and bossa nova.
Being a librarian, I read a lot and don't really have a favorite book. I feel nostalgic for the science fiction I read as a kid, but I like metaphysical and supernatural fiction these days. I never re-read a book, and instead of remembering characters and plot elements, I take a lesson from each book that becomes a integral part of who I am.
I am a Christopher Guest fan. I love humor where people are making fun of themselves.
My TV tastes change all the time. It's easier to say that I don't like medical, cop or law dramas, nor do I like whatever is the favorite of all women in the United States at the moment. I watch some reality TV, but I have become a reality snob (can you imagine- as if there is good reality and bad reality programming). I like home fixit, cooking, and craft shows, of course. Weird historical shows are also a fav- Cities of the Underworld, If These Walls Could Talk, Histories Mysteries.
I am teaching myself to sew, and I have started weaving scarves on a loom. That's the extent of my craftiness since budget restrictions and pre-arthritic hands force me to focus. I love fall-colored yarn, random ribbon stashes, and bright cotton fabrics. I do not know how to sew specialty fabrics, so I stick to cotton and polyester blends. I enjoy having a hobby for the first time. Being in my late 30s, I look back and wish I had started earlier. But I have so much to look forward to learning the craft!

Leigh, you are a wonder! I got the siggy square today and I am in awe! It was so beautifully and thoughtfully designed. I know it will be the star of my siggy quilt.
And the luggage tags are a hoot! I love them. Thank you sooo much. My Mom-in-law (83 - whom I love dearly) is stopping her flight here in Philadelphia on her way to Morocco) She is arriving today and leaving Monday. I'm thinking of lending them to her so she can find her luggage easier, aging eyes being what they are. But I will definitely want them back! :-)
This has been a wonderful first swap for me. I hope yours have been as good. I hope we meet again in the swap rooms.
