About Me

I'm a home body and am enjoying life. I'm currently owner building a home with hubby and 3year old daughter. I love cooking, don't like housework but do love nesting and creating. I yearn to be more self sufficient. The under construction house is the beginning of this venture.

Things I've done - Married my soul mate, locked my front door while naked and got dressed at the clothes line on my way to work (yes, I do live on a farm and I'm not always as organised as I would like), A Bachelor in Creative Arts with a major in painting, created a body of work for an exhibition and then never exhibited it.

Things I like, love or adore - my family, food; especially all things sweet and of course chocolate, the way natural light hits an object, books, creativity, paper, all things earthy (including colours), boxes and old tins, a challenge, strong composition, hand made soap, hand creams, daisies, the smell of apples cooking on the stove, rumaging, objects that have a history, collecting, japanese paper, fabric and patterns and all things old.

Things I'm not into - cutesy stuff, rap music, going out to clubs and pubs, fluro colours, make up and cosmetics and I don't drink tea of coffee.

Favorite Music

I like a lot of different styles of music with exception to Modern dance/rap music, Country and Western and Opera. Those three don't really appeal.

Favorite Books

Non Fiction mainly and autobiographical is a favourite. I just read whatever I'm into at the time.

Favorite Movies

I like many of the Australian movies such as "The Castle" and "Crackerjack".

Favorite Crafts

My background is in art more than craft, but of the crafts I enjoy knitting and hand stitching kids toys or patchwork. I'm no good with a sewing machine. As soon as I touch it, it jams! But I quite enjoy sitting down with a needle and thread and creating. I love creating things out of found objects.

Collections

  • Owls intrigue me, or rather other people's interpretation of this amazing bird so if you paint, draw, stitch or create then you'll make me smile with anything owl related. I'm hoping to introduce this theme into my new bedroom.
  • Old and small tins and boxes
  • Red things for my kitchen
  • Vintage sewing items amd I love buttons!
  • Found objects I can use in my making and creating!
  • Japanese paper, fabric and patterns

What not to send to Australia

Please do NOT include the following items in swaps, they will only be taken by quarantine. * seeds * soil & sand * tea with fruit pieces * incense * dried/pressed flowers * raw nuts/seeds * animal products such as raw hide, feathers, teeth, bones. * shells for more information go to: http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mai
