About Me

During the day, I'm a freelance marketing, public relations and media guy working for a number of companies.

When they're not looking, I'm a long time artist and ATCer. I usually work with collage and Sharpies (although rarely at the same time), because both are readily available, even when I'm sitting at my desk. :) I also enjoy drawing, painting, and photography when I have the free time.

As for my interests, I am seriously into anything 3-D. this means everything from of stereo-views to View-Masters, Tru-Vus and more. As you've probably figured out, this kinda helps explain my handle.

Favorite Books

I read a lot, so my favorite book is almost always something new (to me at least). Usually, however, I'm reading a mystery... everything from themed series (Den of Antiquity, Agatha Raisin, etc.) to hard boiled crime thrillers/procedurals. Some of my more recent favorites include books by John Connolly, Jack Kerley, Ed McBain, Val McDermid and Colin Dexter.

Occasionally a horror, sci-fi or fantasy novel will work its way in there. If so, it's probably by Peter Straub, Richard Laymon, James Rollins, Lincoln Child or Douglas Preston.

Favorite Movies

OK, I don't always have the attention span to sit through an entire movie, so it needs to be something kinda attention-grabbing. So nothing too exciting here, just the usual big-bang kinda fare. My favorites include superhero movies, Disney movies, anything (well-) animated, thrillers, etc. Comedies are good, but they need to be a little clever.

Favorite Television

Right now I'm not watching nearly as much TV as I have in the past. Old favorites include Arrested Development, the Muppets, Teen Titans and the eternal stream of Law & Orders that runs 24-hours a day.

Currently, I'm into Fringe (which keeps getting better), Family Guy, Top Chef, the Simpsons, 30 Rock and (yes, I'll admit it) American Idol.

Favorite Music

My tastes for music range all over the place from rock and pop (well, more pop than rock) to bluegrass and acoustic to classical and even opera. Some of my all time favorites include Aimee Mann, the Pet Shop Boys, the Eurythmics, Dusty Springfield, Judy Collins and others.

Comment: Got the atc today and i love it. I love when my partners take time to actually draw and color an atc then to stick a picture on it or a sticker. And don't feel bad about being late, i completely understand and i mean my other partner hasnt even sent theirs out yet either so your pretty early!
Response: Wow! It got there in only one day :) Glad you like the card... I'm partial to hand-drawn cards as well. But I guess each person has his or her own talents. And thanks too for your patience... it has been a crazy few weeks!

Comment: VuMaster sent his list of 100 things and it was just beautiful. There were things on his list that had not even crossed my mind. I want to know all about taking the train in TOKYO. I so miss IKEA(the one's in Germany are better than the ones state side). This list could easily be turned into a gratitude journal. It was wonderful. I do so hope you will continue to add to your list, everyday. Sincerly, Vernete Smith craftsatmungersmills
Response: Vernete: Thanks for the kind words :) putting together the lost was a fun exercise and made me think of all the amazing, positive things I have in my life. I'm actually keeping a folded copy in my wallet now. As for the train in Tokyo, I'm over 6'2 (about a head taller than 99% of Tokyo), so I always felt like Godzilla when packed in the Tokyo metro with everyone else :)

Comment: , lives near you, in Titusville..we will be visiting for Thanksgiving, so I will see if I can tell the diff. in the skyline when we are in Orlando this time... Thanks for the "historic" perspective!! --Sandi-- P.S. I cant' believe I found someone else who has read the "Agatha Raisin" books...I don't like M.C. Beaton's other stuff as much, although I have read it, but Hamish McBeth isn't quite as funny or fascinating as Agatha, don't you agree?
Response: I'm still working through the Agatha Raisins (only like 40 more to go...) so haven't even had time for Hamish yet. Good to know they may not measure up! :)

Comment: I love Coke! So much better than Pepsi. I think Pepsi drinkers are evil and hate America. Also, I capitalize Mom, but that's because I think of my Mom's first name as Mom. I half expect Mom to appear on her driver's license.
Response: Ummm... you've stumbled on Pepsi's secret plan to take over America. I will pray for your safety.

hey, Bill... I wanted to add to my comments on the Agatha Rasin books..since we seem to like a lot of the same stuff, have you read any books by James Lee Burke? I have been listening to his stories as Audio books, so if you have a chance to check them out from the library, they are really great ..The narrator, Mark Hammer, is really great, I think you would really enjoy them..the "Dave Robicheaux" detective series is set in and around New Orleans and New Iberia, Lousiana, and he has some great characters...I can't tear myself away once I start listening!!

I would love that, maybe I will start working on something really nice for you now...if I get something ready that I feel is suitable I may trade for Mars too. I'll let you know!

NaughtyElf on Jan 17, 2009:

Wow, I really like your ATC's of the planets interpreting them for the Roman gods they are named after...hot! I would like to see Venus...I would trade you for them but I am a newbie in ATC's and fear it would not be an even trade. I really like your profile too!
