"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." -Buddha
It's kind of hard to explain all that encompasses who I am, but I will try. (May the powers that be help you all!)
Religion has always played a big part in my life. It would take a book to explain it all. However, to put it simply: I am identifying as Christian, but am trying to break the stereotypes that people have of most Christians.
I used to be aggressive when it came to politics. I am still stubbornly liberal when it comes to social values, but am not as obsessed and vocal about it. I do, however, still tend to voice my views when need be. This side of me comes out around my like-minded friends and around election times when the opposers come out of the woodwork.
I'm in my twenties and still have no idea what I want to be "when I grow up." I've been to three colleges. The one thing that is holding me back is having to take a basic math class. I am so unbelievably bad at math, nothing computes past basic arithmetic. 1 + 1 = 2, right? See? I is sometimes smart. =P
I consider myself a freelance writer. I write mostly articles and blog entries but have also branched out and tried my hand at fiction. I self-published my first novel, a NaNoWriMo novel, Let Me Out, in 2010. As long as I'm writing, I'm happy. I also like editing. This came to be when I started helping out my best friend with editing his incredible serial killer novel, The Daileys. I eat, sleep, and breathe linguistics. Perhaps, if I can get past math, I will get a degree somewhere in that field.
Also with writing, I am an avid pen paller with about ten current pen pals all over the world.
While teased by some about it, I am a paranormal show enthusiast. I'd love to go on an investigation one day, but will settle for learning from shows and friends until then. That and I want to protect myself.
My taste in music, movies, television shows, and books all have an interesting range.
My favorite bands are The Beatles, U2, and Muse. I also enjoy local music, even if my taste has evolved from emo and hardcore since my high school days.
My favorite TV show is Gilmore Girls. I still proudly watch the re-runs. I like an eclectic variety of shows, including cop dramas and serial killer shows, to moronic comedies. I've been known to throw myself into catching up on shows in time for new eps, such as The Office, Dexter, True Blood, and The Inbetweeners.
My most favorite book is Catcher in the Rye. I am incredibly sad that J.D. Salinger died. He will be missed.
I'm also very brutal when it comes to sports-- namely baseball. I am an avid Yankees fan, and I cannot stand the Red Sox. Ever. At all.
I'm not really content with where my husband and I are living right now, but eventually, we'll get out. I'd love to live in one of the northern states (Pennsylvania and Jersey are my first choices,) or move out of the country to Canada or somewhere in the U.K. To remain somewhat sane, we shop, dine out, and hang out with our true friends (which are hard to find these days.)
I have a hard time trusting people, so if you want to get to know me, be real. No backstabbing or gossiping. If you have a problem with me, tell me to my face.
That's about it. I am who I am. Love it or leave it! ♥

Please do not send Brazil nuts or anything with Brazil nuts in it-- I AM ALLERGIC!!
P.S. Anyone who sends me Milka chocolate or Kinder bars will automatically get a heart. They are so awesome!

Too Funny, Michelle! I always say "I'm in a band called The Sump Pumps. We suck." but I had completely NOT gotten the subtlety of singing backup! Thanks for pointing it out! My DH thinks it's a scream!
