Did you know that January is a Self-Love Month? Or that you can celebrate Happy Mew Day for Cats in January? Or J.R.R.Tolkin Day? Or even drinking straw day? LOL Yeah... Many holidays to celebrate!

For this swap you'll have 1 partner and send them something for a celebration of the holiday he / she picked from JANUARY LIST OF BIZZARE, SILLY, CRAZY, UNKNOWN HOLIDAYS AND OBSERVANCES!

Here is how we'll do it:

  • visit January list of holidays page and pick a holiday to celebrate

  • leave comment here stating which holiday you celebrate

  • when you get assigned with a partner send them small wrapped gift (app. 3 Γ’β€šΒ¬) and a card related to holiday they celebrate

For this swap, good quality handmade items are acceptable. This swap is senders choice but you should check your partner's profile for dislikes so you don't end up sending them something they would hate.

Anyone can join only flakers are not welcome, though I believe I don't have to say that ...

Hmmmm hard to choose... But I'll go for:

"Auschwitz Liberation Day" or

"National Skating Month" (assuming it means Ice skating!)

I have wanted to do this swap for ages, and exactly the way of sending something for my partner to help with celebrating the holiday she chose.... but I'm not sure I can do it in 8 days. :S I'm so sorry.

Anyone else having same problem as @pahasiga ? If more people are not joining because of short send out time, speak up and we'll see to prolong it for few days. Maybe til 14th?

I agree that the deadline is too short... because we can't prepare in advance, as we don't know who our partner is or what they like or what holiday they are celebrating. To send something appropriate might involve a certain amount of creativity or searching for the perfect item...
I wouldn't sign up because a short sendout time means I might not have time to find something wonderful - and also that what I receive will have been thrown together in a hurry...

I agree about the short turn around time. Some of these I do have ideas for but I wouldn't be able to turn it around in a handful of days - espcially with the new years holiday at the start.

But I really would love to get involved, I'm already eyeing up a couple of those holidays!
