Description:

It's a little cold on the porch this time of year, at least where I live! So how about some hot tea and something to talk about?

I haven't made any New Year Resolutions, but there are some things I hope to do differently this year. How about you? This would be a nice topic to discuss while we rock on the porch (bundled up in scarves and mittens) and sip some tea!

And to keep it from being boring, there's a twist. Let's focus on the the letters T, E and A!

Send your partner both a tea bag and your New Year wish corresponding to each of these three letters.

For example, you might send:

T = Twinings, Tangerine or Turquiose-colored wrapper tea, and a little statement about how you'd like to Take more of your clutter to a charity

E = Earl Grey, or Eggplant-colored wrapper tea, and a statement about how you'd like to Eat more lima beans

A = Apple tea and a note about how you'd like to Act like a grown-up for once this year!

These are just examples.
So send you partner 3 teabags representing T, E and A, and a note. In your note, tell why each tea bag represents that letter to you, and choose three new year wishes for yourself inspired by each of the three letters, as well.

Now that sounds like just the thing I'd love to share with my front porch friends!!

Open to everyone who's come to join us on the porch!

Tea is sender's choice since it may be a challenge to match the tea to the letters. However if your partner doesn't like loose tea, please send wrapped teabags only. Please post below if you feel strongly about "no loose tea".

As you sip your tea, you can send your partner positive thoughts to help them fulfill their wish! Have fun!!

This was such a fun swap. I'm glad you brought it to the front porch. Thank you!

:( I don't "do" tea

earthnk 01/10/2012 #

@Taco5518 it's not about you "DOING" tea m'dear. It's about finding Tea bags to fill this fun swap description. So you don't do tea. Someone in your home or "office"~~~might. lol! Tea is also the perfect little extra to add to your outgoing swaps for those profiles that list "tea loves"

So see... there's always "a way" to do tea :-)

Sounds very creative, love this idea!

BambooBailey 01/10/2012 #

I don't do tea either, but what is a colored tea wrapper??

earthnk 01/10/2012 #

@BambooBailey factory sealed individual teabags are sometimes in clear cello and sometimes in colorful wrapped. You ever see the Tazo individual bags at Starbucks? That's the colorful bags. So for this swap sending 3 little tea bags in their invdifually wrapped colorful papers you might send this: T= Tazo or Tetely or Twinings might be printed on the wrapper. E=echinecea or earl grey or elderberries . A- apple or etc.

@nekozet also is allowing use of the teabag color. So you might have a teabag in a teal colored wrapper or an ecru colored wrapper or an "artfully" colored wrapper. hee hee. The deal is to let your imagination play and come up with three individual factory sealed tea bags that stand for T-E-A for Y-O-U :-) It's just another way to get fun mail. Seriously, you can swap them to future peeps who adore tea...like me! (big grin)

p.s. I think I've seen eggplant colored tea wrappers from Stash teas. I think it's their pomegranate flavor.

Great description @earthnk ! Ha Ha, Stash teas were exactly the brand I pictured when I said "eggpalnt" too! ;p
