Description:

Do you find yourself attracted to Birds, Eggs, nests, & twiggie things? Then this is the swap for you!
For this swap you will do a box of Bird related items for one partner--I am putting this USA only because of the high postage. You will fill your box with items that are "for the birds", a trip to a dollar store or crafts store should turn up lots of inexpensive items. The exact number Of items should be at least 7 to 10--more will bring hearts. Some items you might handmake with a bird theme. You could share collage sheets or stickers, scrapbooking papers with bird themes. Try for a variety of types of itesm. Don't forget items birds might be attracted to---miniature birdhouses etc. Crows and Ravens love to take anything sparkleie home to their nests! Who is to say a bird might not like a miniture teacup to build a nest in! BE CREATIVE AND SEND A PACKAGE YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECIEVE! In the comments box on the swap page why not list the kinds of birds you are interested in or NOT interested in! Let your partner know if you want hummingbirds so you don't get eagles! HAVE FUN! Because of recent problems with some people not sending I am limiting this to people with a rating of 5.*** EDITED---IF YOU HAVE 4.8 OR HIGHER JUST CONTACT ME, IF I FEEL YOU ARE SINCERE THEN I'LL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO LET YOU INTO THE SWAP! I WANT SINCERE SWAPPERS ONLY!*** If you are a newbee and have a completed profile message me and I will probably let you in the swap if you are sincere--I have had newbees in my other swaps and found they are the most concerned with doing a good job and getting good ratings---but you MUST message me before I assign partners!

For this swap I was mostly thinking I'd like the type of cute little birds you find outside your window in the trees not the exotic types! I also like Crows and Ravens so anything with them is always a hit with me! I especially love little eggs and nests and anything unusual! I'm not into cutsie really---prefer vintage and realistic things. I like rubber stamps, and collage/scrapbooking papers very much.

LaLaLove 02/24/2008 #

Oh, this sounds like such a great swap! I really like owls and little birds that you would see at a birdfeeder. I also love nests and eggs. Please no eagles or big parrots.

LaLaLove 02/24/2008 #

Sorry, I forgot, I also love crows and ravens, and please no ducks or geese.

shopandbid 02/24/2008 #

Rating of a 5 lets me out oh well, I'll save some money for another swap.

PumpkinSeedMama 02/24/2008 #

I LOVE crows and ravens!! I also LOVE those little pink birdies that can be found in many shabby chic altered creations!! I love bird rubber stamps and vintage pics of birds. Bird feathers, faux eggs, and nests are great too!! Please NO eagles, parrots, ducks or geese

GypsyDyann 02/24/2008 #

SHOPANDBID---I checked your profile and you are 4.99--close enough---please do join us! I have messaged you to invite you back to join! I just had a swap where someone flaked on 3 partners and I had to angel the whole bunch so that's why I'm being particular who I have in this one! NO fun for the partners and it was not fair to me either!

shopandbid 02/24/2008 #

Thank you, actually I like all kinds of birds never thought of my dislikes before. I'm easy.

Sage 02/24/2008 #

I LOVE crows, ravens, owls, swallows and sparrows. Bird feathers, nests and eggs are great too. I also prefer vintage and realistic images.

Please no ducks, eagles, geese, parrots or any tropical birds. My profile is detailed with my interests :)

This sounds like a great swap. I like backyard birds. In NE Ohio, that's sparrows, wrens, woodpeckers, robins, bluejays, nuthatches, tufted titmouse and the like. I too, prefer realistic, vintage type. I love botanical prints, nests, feathers, eggs. My profile does a pretty good job of describing my likes and dislikes.

Please no cartoon-like birds or bright colored plastic ones. Please email me if you have any questions. Thanks GypsyDyann for hosting!

Thanks for joining qmock! Looks like we are rally getting a great group of ladies for this swap! I'm really excited about it!

This sounds great! I like small backyard birds in general, but I LOVE owls. I also like ducks - especially brown realistic-looking ones. I love realistic-looking birds in general.

I'm not a big fan of owning items with large or tropical birds on them even though I do think they are beautiful.

stephadactyl 03/ 5/2008 #

I like owls, sparrows, finches, swallows, song birds, robins, ravens, crows, birds you would find in a back yard or forest, nests, eggs, bird houses, and bird cages. I'm okay with feathers, if they aren't real.

I would prefer not to receive tropical birds, such as parrots, ducks, geese, chickens, or eagles.

kgeslab 03/15/2008 #

I like small realistic birds you'd find at a feeder. No ducks or geese, ravens or eagles please!

Bonnie1952 03/16/2008 #

Realistic, back-yard types are good for me as well. I will try to send a mix of practical and useful items as well as decorative. Pls see my profile for ideas.

This is such a lovely idea for a swap GypsyDyann. ...especially with spring just around the corner…

I suppose I should say that I enjoy song birds best. But the crow and raven, the barn owl and such, and all their nestings too would be lovely.

Have a beautiful day...

analteredfairytale 03/17/2008 #

This sounds like it will be such a wonderful swap! I absolutely love sweet or cute little birds and use them frequently in my creations along with nests. Bluebirds are one of my favorites. I also love Ravens and Crows too. I really enjoy birds that are vintage looking as well. Thank you so much Gypsy Dyann for allowing me to participate!

Please no ducks, eagles, geese, or parrots.

AliceAtTheBeach 03/18/2008 #

I love all birds. I like all bird related items.

Bonnie1952 03/19/2008 #

Am I the only one who is thinking 7-10 items is a lot? I'm also having trouble coming up with lightweight items other than stickers....maybe some of you all have suggestions for me in trying to keep this relatively inexpensive and lightweight?

GypsyDyann 03/19/2008 #

Bonnie---I have messaged you--I don't think that 7-10 items is much when some could be stickers or small lightweight birds or nests or flowers! Remember you can make items also---note cards with bird themes, etc. Used stores and dollar stores have many crafts items that would be perfect! Try scrapbooking stores also--pretty bird papers or??? The selections are endless as birds are a popular catagory! Used stores often have small bird nicknacks or jewelry items. WISHING EVERYONE FUN WITH THIS AND GREAT PACKAGES FULL OF JOY IN THE MAIL!

I am excited about participating in this swap! I prefer realistic or vintage looks vs. cartoonish ones. I love bluebirds of happiness, swallows, and yard birds of all varieties. Handmade treasures would thrill me. Natural items like nests and eggs would also be fun. Thrift store finds like transfer ware or tea towels would make my heart sing. Yea! Happy Spring!
