About Me

I'm a 40 something female that loves to knit and quilt. I have a husband and 3 children and I teach school- 6th and 7th grade math. I live in the USA on the east coast. I sing in a Masterworks Choir and I love most colors. I drink tea all the time (love black teas), but I am HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO CHAMOMILE!

Favorite Music

Classical and jazz are my two favorites. I especially love Brazillian Jazz! I'd love to receive a CD from someone featuring soft backround music for my classroom!

Favorite Movies

The Color Purple, Babe the Pig, Glory, Steel Magnolias and other movies that are similar. I must admit I love a good Lifetime movie, as well. The Spiderman trilogy rocks! I've always loved Star Trek!!!

Favorite Television

House, Hell's Kitchen,Star Trek - all of them!, Project Runway, General Hospital.

Favorite Crafts

Quilting and knitting are my favorite hobbies. I'm working on my embroidery skills as well. See below for info on my Crazy Quilt!

These are a Few of my Favorite

I love: black Teas and chai , embellishments for my crazy quilt (see below) healthy snacks (Fiber 1 bars, ,flavored nuts,granola, trail mix with dried fruit etc.) dark and milk Chocolate, Reading, Baking bread and other goodies from scratch! Recipes are always fun, and I really like them on recipe cards. I love historical fiction - esp. about the kings and queens of England. I also love Dan Brown, but have read all he's written so far.

I would love hand-made cards!

Handmade Things I'd Love

malas (also known as prayer beads or rosaries)

hand sewn items would be a real treat! A tea wallet, over the chair sewing organizer, etc.

Address lables would be great!

Jazz music CDs you've put together would be fun and I'd love a quiet mix that I can play as background music in my classroom !!!!!

Cards you've made would be appreciated since I don't have that skill!

Focus Project

I am currently consturcting a crazy quilt. I am looking for odd fabrics with lots of texture - velvet, silk, taffata, and scraps are welcome! I also need embellishments like beads (not plastic), lace, applique' shapes and trimmings. If you have an embroidary machine I'd love a design (butterfly, dragonfly, tea pot, . . . ) on a solid backround to add to the quilt.

Comment: Great ideas, especially the one about putting a box of ornaments together for your kids. My mother in law used to buy all of us (kids included) an ornament every year when she was alive. Your list reminded me that I should keep up the tradition.
Response: It is a tradition I really enjoy - it has become a scavenger hunt. I really try to think of each child when I get his or her ornament. Thanks for the heart!
