I'm a 40 something female that loves to knit. I have a husband and 3 children and I teach elementary school- 5th grade science. I live in the USA on the east coast. I sing in a Masterworks Choir and I love the color yellow. I drink tea all the time (love black teas), but I am ALLERGIC to CHAMOMILE!
Classical and jazz are my two favorites. I love a good oboe concerto! I used to play the oboe. Heinz Holliger Rocks!!!!
The Color Purple, Babe the Pig, Glory, Steel Magnolias and other movies that are similar. I must admit I love a good Lifetime movie, as well. The Spiderman trilogy rocks!
Lost, House, Hell's Kitchen,Shear Genius, Project Runway, General Hospital, Little House on the Prarie and The Waltons.
Knitting is my favorite thing to do in my spare time. I love the feel of a good yarn when I'm knitting - none of that cheap acrylic stuff or fun fur, please! Don't want to spend all of that time knitting and end up with a product that feels like plastic. I esp. love alpacca in rich earth and jewel tones. I've learned to knit socks and boy am I addicted! I also love to read, but that's more of a hobby than a craft. I'd really like some nice quality rubber stamps to start making notecards. I also love to journal! Cotton fabric to practice my newest hobby, quilting, would always be appreciated.
I love: black Teas , Candles , Alpaca and other SOFT natural yarns, sock yarn, warm socks(not cheapy, nylon though) healthy snacks (Fiber 1 bars, ,flavored nuts, trail mix with dried fruit etc.) Reading, Baking bread and other goodies from scratch!
Here is a list of books I'd love to receive, either new or used:
The Other Queen
The God of Animals
The Zookeeper's Wife - a War story
The Abstinence Teacher
Fire in the Blood
Someone Knows My Name: A Novel
Heart-Shaped Box: A Novel
Stealing Lincoln's Body
The Terror: A Novel
What the Dead Know: A Novel
Anything about knitting or quilting, even old knitting/quilting magazines
. . . I'll update as I read!
altered journals, soap, knitted socks, bookmarks, malas (also known as prayer beads or rosaries) whimsy jars so I can see what those are all about! Aprons and other hand sewn items would be a real treat! I always need stationary to write notes to parents. It must have envelopes to match. Jazz music CDs you've put together!!!!
