Description:

This is a very special swap and I would not have hosted this with any other group. I know many of you by first names and call you friends. I feel safe here, I feel safe in the Isles.

As many of you know my dear mother passed away last year on September 7th, her birthday was September 5th this, needless to say, is a difficult week for me. So in honor of her and to ease the grief, I am hosting this swap.

I do not have to tell you that if you flake on this swap, especially this swap, well, you will never swap in any of my groups again, it means that much to me.

My dear friends, please let us all gather and comfort one another for most of us have lost someone dear to us at some point in our lives. This will be a swap of sharing, grieving and healing.

First, please share comfort in the form of a written note or letter. Open up and tell your partner about someone you were close that has passed beyond the veil. If you have not experienced such an event, then comfort your partner with a poem or warm thoughts and sentiments from your heart.

Second, send them a token of grief to hold on to, for in touch there is also comfort. The item could be a handkerchief, a worry stone, maybe a stone that has properties to give comfort or a small felted doll, anything really, make something you are good at crafting, that way you can put extra love into it.

And lastly, send something to help them heal. I could be a spell or ritual, a candle for them to light in honor of their loved one, incense, a talisman for protection, it is up to you. This is a time to share and heal so let it come from the heart, that is the most important thing.

This is the time of year where the veil begins to thin and were are closer than ever to our departed ones, so let this year be a time to remember and to heal our hearts.

Blessed be dear friends and thank you for all the support you have given in the past to me.

So my partner knows....I lost my next in line sister, Susan 10 years ago on 9/30, one week from her birthday, 9/25 and one week from my birthday 10/6. We were close as children, in a family of six children, there are those you connect with and those, that the age difference or personalities are too great. This time is usually difficult for me, doubly so with all the changes and loss that I have been experiencing lately. I didn't know if you would understand if I said I was really grieving for my dog, Griffin right now. When it comes to losing a pet or a person, the person always seems like more of a loss but sometimes that is not true...

My sympathies and heart are with you, let me just say though that loss is loss it doesn't matter if it is a pet, a family member or a precious item, if you were attached to it, loved it, and it meant something to you then when you lose it/them, it just hurts. You have friends here and we are thinking of you, you too are safe on the Isle.

I would absolutely understand AynE...especially with a dog- they never give a moments worry or a moments doubt about where their loyalties and love lie. I've always said that humans really don't deserve dogs...and sometimes I wonder why we didnt develop such a wonderful sense of unconditional love that they have... I've mentioned it before I know, but I lost my little one Kelsey- she died in my arms, peacefully, and I still think of her daily. A true angel.
