Description:

The Waters Of Mars, won the 2010 Hugo Award for Best Presentation, Short Form. It was written by Russell T. Davies and Phil Ford. This was the first Doctor Who special that was not tied to a particular holiday but was promoted as one of the final specials of the Tenth Doctor. It originally aired on November 15, 2009.

The TARDIS arrives on Mars where the tenth doctor is quickly taken into custody by Gadget a remote controlled robot. The Doctor soon meets, the base commander, Adelaide Brooke and the rest of the doomed space station inhabitants. Soon the Doctor will be wrestling with changing history or walking away from the trapped, doomed inhabitants. This episode marks the last time we see the Doctor in his spacesuit and where we see the Doctor declaring that he is the Lord of Time. For this ATC you will make one card that encapsulates this story. What should be on the card:

  1. Include a favorite quote from this episode on the card as well as the

  2. An appropriate embellishment.

This is a 1 for 1 card swap. Any medium is acceptable: collage, drawing, pen and ink, etc.

Just donÒ€ℒt find a picture on the Γ’β‚¬Λœnet slap it on the card and call it done. Create something that you will want to keep or offer to your favorite Doctor!

Images are acceptable but put some thought in your execution.

PS: Remember everyone in this group must participate in one of our swaps every six months

I'm so conflicted! I want a full set of ATCs for this series... but this episode scared me to death. I can't even rewatch it! I'm not sure I want an ATC reminding me of how scary it was every time I look in my ATC binder.

Oh KateKintai!

You've gotta have it. Maybe we could make something for you that opens up -- like the TARDIS on the outside and the water on the inside!! It is one of the scarier ones. Water Always Wns!

I don't understand why that one was nominated for a hugo when the Doctor Who Christmas Carol was the best episode. (Now I guess you all know what I like in a Who episode).

For the record here are the nominations for Hugo Awards 2011:

Dramatic Presentation, Short Form "Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol," written by Steven Moffat; directed by Toby Haynes (BBC Wales) "Doctor Who: The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang," written by Steven Moffat; directed by Toby Haynes (BBC Wales) "Doctor Who: Vincent and the Doctor," written by Richard Curtis; directed by Jonny Campbell (BBC Wales)

Always good to have your facts straight.
