My name is Donna, aka stlouisphile
I enjoy reading, creating collages, creating ATC's, found art, b&w photography. I hope to start taking photos with my film camera this spring and summer again and perhaps get back into the dark room. I can't tell you how rewarding it is to shoot film, develop the film yourself, wait for the film to dry and then pick something you want to crop and develop. Nothing compares. Seriously!
I use Photoshop when creating digital ATCs and using periodicals such as Communication Arts, Art Forum and other quality magazines. I think I have a twenty year supply of periodicals!
Week of May12, 2013
This week's photo is a still from DT's mini series he's just completed filming "The Escape Artist" Not sure when it will air.
You might have noticed that I am a bit of a Whovian. But don't let that scare you. I like other stuff too. Well...yeah.
Really. Anyway I am into all kinds of nerdy and not so nerdy things. Read on!!
As a media technician I assist faculty and staff with technology. I teach new students how to be great students, and on occasion I teach/tutor Dreamweaver, web and blog design. I hold a master's degree in Eduction with an emphasis in Instructional Technology/Online Learning.
I enjoy creating faux postage, mail art, naked mail shenanigans and altering tins.
I attend Archon every year, I'm a past chairman and committee member.
Are you a Whovian? Then transport yourself over to the Doctor Who Fans Group if you'd like to join a rather fine group of Whovians. Allons-y or if you prefer, Geronimo!
My tastes in movies tend toward science fiction, action and drama. That doesn't leave very much out. Right?
Iron Man 3!!! Best SF movie so far for 2013
Django Unchained
The Hobbit (part 1) Fantastic, plus there's Sylvester McCoy in it!
The Dark Knight Rises
The Day The Earth Stood Still (original)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
2001: A Space Odyssey
Pulp Fiction
Fright Night 2011 (starring some Scottish bloke as Peter Vincent)
Doctor Who (the longest running television series ever -- Initial broadcast Saturday 11/23/1963. 50 Years! And it only took 46 years for me to have my favorite doctor:
Hannibal - Bon Appetit!!
Broadchurch (UK mini series)
Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Newsroom
Suits, Covert Affairs, Strike Back
Sherlock --The British series with Benedict Cumberbach (I bet I misspelled his name)
Elementary - OK I'll admit its not as good as Sherlock but hey it is The World's Greatest Detective with a heroin addiction. And Lucy Liu as Doctor Watson
The Walking Dead and The Talking Dead on AMC
Banshee
Paper arts, altered art, recycled art, collage, painting. I love mail art which is kinda what I'd like to do more of if I can get people to exchange with me. Counted cross stitch (but only for smaller items cause just to do one little Dalek on 16 count fabric takes about 90 minutes. I also like beading cross stitch patterns for pins.
I am also a youtube craft junky. Unfortunately NPR just posted that youtube wants to start charging for certain content. So this may change.
My favorite colors are navy blue, robin's egg blue, orange, and copper.
A good breeze through an open window (I don't have central air conditioning)
I hardly ever participate in "package" swaps but if you're in the mood I would mind: Doctor Who Royal Mail Stamps, Magnets (little powerful magnets I adore) TARDIS Anything, BFF for a tin TARDIS (they're available when you purchase Doctor Who collectible cards) Birthday greetings 'cause I'm turning 60 in June. YIKES!!
My medium of choice for ATC cards are collage or digital. I always print on Bristol Paper or watercolor paper I will also use watercolor paper or mat board when I create collages or ATC cards. Almost all of my cards are mounted on mat board - its part of my signature :) My collage images come from Communication Arts, Print and Art Forum because those images are totally awesome and you get a one of a kind collage. I also like to use embellishments and rubber stamps too in my art.
Collage and installation artists. I love the art of Andy Warhol, Picasso, impressionist painters, the cubist painters. I love Joseph Cornell and his assemblage boxes. In fact I just may have to make one for my sonic screwdrivers...
Non-raters AKA Fraters!
My wishlist is to have a system on swap-bot that also keeps track of rating swaps. It would go right next to your Stars
I will not rate you a 1 or 3 on something that's not something I like however I will rate a 3 (no matter how awesome your item is) if your swap is LATE with no prior email from you.
It bothers me that I will have to give a "3" but it's only fair. If I am late and I haven't given you prior warning I too expect a "3".

So. Not a hoax then. As for the rest of the episode... Wow. Just wow.
We can't blame Hurt--- but we most certainly can blame Moffat! I usually respect Moffat's rumors and hope for the best be it a hoax or real.... but that I cannot understand. At all. It's like Moffat wants to hurry up and reach the part where he has to provide an explanation of why the Doctor can regenerate more than 13 times.....
Please let this be a hoax.
I'm glad you liked the cards! They come with the who magazines I get from the UK sometimes but there's not much to do with them when you have no one to play with! I thought you would enjoy some of them, finals don't start until next week. Which is good because I have an upper respiratory infection that I'm hoping to kick before exams.
I don't know if you've been told yet today but you are spectacular. For no other reason then because i said so. Have a great Saturday.
You are very welcomed. I am glad you liked it. And I can see where JD would make a good Dr. Who. : )
Timey-wimey Doctor Who in a Bag profile check!
Happy Mail on it way
Girl, it was amazing. I didn't fan girl in front of him. Kept my total cool but in the truck on the way home, I cried. Such a woman. But it was just so many feelings. Imagine if you spent and hour with David Tennant in front of you (on a speaker). You're concerned for his safety in the rough crowd so you hold his legs to keep him steady. And yes his crotch is RIGHT there. Then when you meet him he is sweet and a perfect gentleman. That's me right now... ♥
Aside from that, I hope you're having a fabulous day!! xoxo♥
Thank you for the Doctor Who love, I needed it today.
