Handmade postcard swap.

Five partners.

One postcard per partner.

International.

Newbies Welcome.

No ratings minimum, but recent no-sends will get you dropped prior to partner send outs.

Postcards must be handmade or altered and make use of fabric in a very dominant way.

You may stitch or adhere the fabric through other means. I, myself, love to stitch cards, but realize not everyone has a sewing machine or knows how to sew by hand.

Do these cards have to be sent "naked" through the mail? I am wondering how to stick the stamp on! :-)

When I make my cards, the fabric is on the front of a card back. So you stick the stamp on just as you normally would. I advise using a cardboard/cardstock surface as your "canvas".

You do not have to send naked, if you do not feel your card will withstand mailing this way without damage.

Okay, I'll have to experiment and see how it goes.... I have been having great fun starting to make my cards!

This is my first time with fabric post cards so bear with me. I am using cereal box cardboard so I was afraid to try stitching them with my old sewing machine. Mine aren't as elaborate as the ones I saw on flickr, but I think they're pretty and hope my partners like them. I was wondering about them naked too, would it be acceptable to "laminate" them or would that defeat the purpose of them being fabric?

I sent mine off yesterday, if you want to check them out they are on my flickr....http://www.flickr.com/photos/sampler1000/ I decided to send all of them in envelopes so that I could include some little extras for everyone based on their profile, hope all my partners enjoy them!

My cards were all sent today. I put 41¢ stamp on all only to go in and have the clerk say they needed 17¢ more. Glad I had the clerk check. I'd have been mortified to have my swap pals receive a postage due notice:)
