Description:

You will create for your partner an ornament, suitable for a lovely vintage inspired Christmas tree. The ornament can be made of any material(s) you choose, but it should be well made, sturdy, and with a definite vintage look. If you want to use some of your vintage ephemera, ribbon, lace, buttons, etc., all the better, but actual vintage materials are not a requirement.

You might choose to use an existing vintage ornament or decoration and alter or add to it. That's always a lot of fun.

Please look over your partner's profile for any requests as to "non-religious" items, etc. As a matter of fact, I'm going to ask that you post a little note below and state your preference for the type of ornie you prefer to receive; traditional Christmas, secular Christmas, Hanukkah, Yule, or something else.

No size requirement, as I'm sure we all know how big an ornament usually is. Any tiny or huge ornament ideas should be ok'd by your partner. Other than that...have fun and make something to be proud of!

My preference is...I'd like an ornament of your choice, actually. My husband is Jewish and we celebrate a secular sort of Christmas/Hanukkah thing, but my tree welcomes any and all holiday ornaments! =)

Any theme is great! I'm Christian but welcome any religious theme. :)

I love Christmas!! All vintage and wonderful!! Love the retro look, too!

I would love anything you hand make with love and joy for the season. I love glittery and sparkly things that glisten with the lighting.

I would also like to add that, obviously, you should not use plastic for this - after all, we want to make this something really nice and treasured for years to come! :) If you're stumped for ideas, I've seen a lot of really wonderful paper mache ornaments in craft stores that would be perfect as a base for vintage embellishments etc.

Personally, I'm most fond of more traditional styles with red and green, and like slewis234 have a keen appreciation for handmade with love and effort. :)

Oh darn, sorry I didn't post my preference! I'm open to anything. I love Yule, and traditional christmas, and religous is fine too (like angels or the nativity).
