Have you always wanted to try your hand at Matchboxes? Well here's your chance!

This will be open to everyone with a 4.8+ rating, and Newbies are welcome IF you PM me FIRST and have a fully filled out profile (not just 3 sentences)!

Search Flickr for Matchbox pictures to get an idea.

We will be using the smaller kind. The 32ct Matchboxes. They can be found at Walmart, most gas stations, grocery stores, etc. There's also a templat running around here although I'm unsure of exactly where it's at. IF you go over to the forums and ask I'm sure someone over there will know!

Now, decorate your matchbox. No slapping on a couple of stickers and calling it done! EMBELLISH it, make it pretty, put your heart into creating one!!

This is a free theme so you may decorate it however you wish.

More experienced matchbox makers are more than welcome to join as well.

Once you decorate your matchbox make sure to PACK IT FULL with brads, buttons, etc!! Get good stuff and nothing junky to fill your matchbox with!

Just wondering how you would need to post something like this? What would be the safest way to post it? Also, how much would it cost to post this internationally? Thank in advance. :-)

weeatcrayons 09/22/2008 #

Wouldn't cost that much, I can ship one to europe for a couple of bucks. Normally i put it in an extra layer of bubble wrapping in a bubble envelope so it doesn't get crushed. I've ha dthem make it there just fine

I'd love to join this, but what's a 32ct matchbox? Is that the price or the size?! Sorry, an ignorant Aussie here! :p

aglanceatmyworld 10/10/2008 #

It's how many matches are in the box. The number of matches is on most boxes.

EJ1981 10/10/2008 #

Oh, thanks for letting me know! I'm having difficulty finding that size here, it seems the smallest in the supermarket is 45ct. Is that okay? I'll still keep looking before I join this swap though...

LaTosi 10/13/2008 #

EJ1981, I pm'd weeatcrayons and she said the 40 to 45 count are fine, I too had trouble finding the 32.

EJ1981 10/14/2008 #

Thanks for checking, LaTosi - I'm so glad because I really want to do this swap!! :)

What is the size of the matchbox we have to use? In inches or cm...
