Description:

I swiped the swap description from Beckra with her permission (with a few modifications)

I enjoy postcard swaps so much and am often delighted by the little glimpses of other people's lives that they offer. Here's a chance to get to know the sender a little bit better because you'll receive multiple cards from them, written and sent over the course of a week.... Interested? Read on!

For this swap you will have 1 partner, and you will send that partner 7 postcards. On each postcard you should write a diary-type entry.

Write your first card on 8/30 and your last one on 9/6. At the end of each day, give yourself some time to record the day's events. What did you do that day? What did you think about? Did something make you especially happy or especially unhappy? You can write anything along these lines, as long as you're giving some sort of view of your day. The next morning, pop that postcard in the mail, and write the next card that evening. Repeat until the week is out! (Of course, since no mail moves in the US at least on Sundays, the Saturday postcard will have to be mailed on the following Monday.)

If you don't have access to a mailbox every day, you can write a card a day and then mail all the cards at once on 9/6.

Types of postcards sent are the sender's choice. Both commercially produced cards and hand-made cards are fine, though if your card is delicate you may want to send it in an envelope (and that's okay for this swap).

Other details: 1) This is an international swap; please be sure you're willing to pay international postage for 7 postcards if you are assigned a partner not in your country. 2) No newbies for this one; sorry. 3) Swappers with a rating below 4.9 or a profile that may cause concern will be dropped before partners are assigned. If there's something on your profile that you think might raise eyebrows, please PM me in advance. 4) Before partners are assigned I'll also drop anyone who hasn't logged into swap-bot in over a week. Don't forget to include your swapbot name & the name of the swap on your postcards

Sorry for all that rules and regulations mumbo jumbo--I just want to make sure that everyone receives their postcards and that all swappers participating are ready to write and send!

One card a day from 8/30 to 9/6 makes 8 cards, not 7. Not that I have a problem with that really, just thought I'd point it out.

Basilika 08/25/2008 #

No, wait. We write the last card on 9/5 and mail it on 9/6, ergo writing 7 cards in total. Never mind then.

wouldn't this be #3? I have already participated in two of these recently. No problem with it, just that it'd be the 3rd in the series... which by the way are really cool swaps!

We also have a holiday where there is no mail ... by the way. Labor day there is no mail which is monday 9/1

StwbyQT 08/31/2008 #

Yes, I forgot to take the holiday into account. So, as result, just double up on one of your days for those in the US.

I just got the email that partners were assigned and it is after 10 p.m. where I live, so my dates are going to be completely off from the dates listed in the description. I am not up to writing this late at night. I hope my partner will understand. I am sending 7 postcards, but they will not be with the dates as described. Mine will start Sept 1 and go through Sept 7.

Darnit, I missed seeing this swap until it was too late! I would have loved to join!

Sorry that I was a bit tardy in hitting "Send" on the 31st - had been in NE because we've just put my Dad into hospice care - terminal cancer....

To any that this will delay their sending - just let your partner know of the circumstances so they are aware.

Thanks & I apologize if these unexpected circumstances caused any difficulty for you with starting the swap.

Will you be hosting anymore swaps like this.... this one is alot of fun.

StwbyQT 09/ 3/2008 #

I know that Beckra mentioned that she was/is going to be hosting another mid/late September.. keep your eyes peeled.

Glad you're enjoying this swap. :)

To my partner. I have mailed out all my postcards and so you should have already received some. I mailed them out the day after each one was written as opposed to sending them out all at once. It was alot of fun and I hope that you like the postcards I sent to you :)

My last p/c went in the mail today. :) I agree - I love this swap. :)
