Description:

After joining an international swap similar to this last year, I'm hosting my own Aussie rendition with @angel1985 s permission

Warning: This swap will be pretty labour intensive, so please make sure you have the time to get the swap done before you join! It will be much more fun for you (and your partner) if you work on this over time rather than at the last minute. Unfortunately I've left it a little late to put this swap up, but we still have a few weeks to get it done :)

For this swap you will send 1 partner 12 letters all at the same time, to be opened over the course of 2016. Below is a list of themes for each month. You should write one letter per month on the appropriate theme and include a small gift for each month as well. Put each letter and gift in a sealed envelope labelled with what month it is. In addition, send 2 cards in the month(s) of your choice - these may be Christmas, Birthday, Valentine's Day, Easter etc.

So, to summarise and further explain:

  • Send 12 sealed envelopes clearly labelled with each month to 1 partner. Send these in one package all at once. When you receive yours, it's fun to have something to open each month.

  • Each month write a letter to your partner, minimum 1 A5 page, but more is certainly encouraged. Handwritten is preffered, but typed is ok as long as there is some sort of decoration (not just plain font on white paper - maybe add some stickers or washi tape, or print something a little prettier). You may like to write about yourself, enocurage your partner etc.

  • In addition, each month should have a small gift, which can be anything you like (doesn't neccesserily have to match the theme). These items may be handmade or store-bough, or even from your stash. Ideas include stickers, washi tape samples or roll, postcards, unused notecards, ATCs, bookmarks etc.

  • In addition, send 2 cards for occasions of your choice (CHristmas, birthday etc)

Without further ado, the themes for each month are:

January - Introduction (tell your partner a little bit about yourself!)
February - Love
March - Family
April - Hobbies
May - Hope
June - Journey
July - Dreams
August - Favourite time of the year
September - Inspiration
October - Favourite place
November - Animals/Pets
December - Christmas

12 letters, 12 gifts, 2 cards all sent in 12 separate envelopes, labelled with each month, and posted as one package.

This swap is sender's choice, although (as always) it's nice to look at your partner's profile and send things they may like.

Any questions please ask :)

I wish I had more time for this. I'm going to see if can get through my current swaps and maybe start some letters before I commit. December is such a busy month. In January I would have heaps of time for it. 10 days to do 12 letters is a challenge in December. I would prefer a send date a week or two into January but that's just me.

I agree sweetie. Sorry Keruka, I would love to do this but the time limit is too short.

I know ladies I meant to get it up in November but completely forgot sorry :( I don't mind pushing the send date back, it just means people can't open the January letter till the end of January rather than the start. But if I have no objections, I am happy to do this :)

I've extended the send date. Hope you ladies can join :)

Thanks so much Keruka.

Is it okay if we send photos as well?

Keruka 12/18/2015 #

Of course! Photos would be a great addition :)

mellyrose89 12/18/2015 #

Great thanks :)

Another question: When do we rate our partner? After we read all of the letters, or when it arrives?

Keruka 12/22/2015 #

When it arrives - although you're free to change it later e.g. you should rate a 5 if you get all the letters on time etc, you might give a heart later if you didn't straight away :)

Okay thanks :)
