Hi, I'm Diane. I'm an artist and crafter living near Wollongong, Australia. I'm back on Swap-bot after a long break. I've deleted old things that are no longer relevant on my profile, and added some new things.
In my house we have lots of books and lots of art. We love meeting and supporting local artists. We try to live ethically, as much as our budget allows (Fair trade, bamboo, organic cotton, recycled, repurposed, etc). We love shopping at the local farmers market.
I'm a big fan of op-shops (thrift stores), mending things that can be fixed and donating things I don't need to charity.
I believe all things happen for a reason.
I believe that hugs and chocolate can heal most things.
I believe I am the only person in control of my experience of life because I choose how I react to any given situation.

My husband, Peter, really should go at the top of this list. He's warm, kind, intelligent and very understanding. He puts up with my messy craft room, encourages my creative endevours and doesn't complain when I buy even more craft supplies. Sometimes he even buys them for me as presents. He likes geeky things, woodworking, going to the gym, and one day he'll enjoy getting into the garden once we have time to get it up and other things aren't so time consuming. He also laughs at my bad jokes and puns. As I said, very kind. Gentle soul with a heart of gold. I am truly blessed to have him in me life.
Favourite Animals: cats, giraffes, elephants, butterflies, sea horses, butterflies, owls.
Bright happy colours. Favourites are blue, teal, purple and pink.
Japanese themed stuff. I've been to Japan once and loved it. Such a rich culture and an intriging mix of traditional and ultra-modern. I hope to get back there again one day. Kawaii is cute, Geishas are beautiful. Temples are such special places, and also beautiful. Their gardens are amazing. I love Japanese food too.I especially like the Japanese paper, fabric and beatiful washi patterned paper. I love cherry blossoms, paper cranes, fans and little Kimono dolls.
- Whimsical things and fantasy - fairies, mermaids, dragons, unicorns, elves, owls, butterflies, forests, rainbows, toadstools, ladybirds, dragon flies, the moon, stars, merry-go-rounds, tea pots etc.. - I especially love the moon. (I'm named after Diana, Roman Goddess of the Moon and of the Hunt) .I like Space photography and galaxies and nebulas too.
Retro flair I like 1950s pin up & burlesque art and rockabilly fashion & accessories.

Due to Australia's strict custom regulations DO NOT send any raw plant/animal material if you're sending from outside Australia. See link at the top of my profile for more info....... This includes pressed flowers, seeds, feathers, bees wax, some tea (with any flowers, like hibiscus, nuts, seeds or fruit pieces or peel). If you do it will either be send back or destroyed (and that would be sad). Processed packaged food is OK so long as it is heat treated, sealed and has a list of ingredients. (Usually plastic/vacuum/foil sealed).
Religious/Anti-Religious, man-hating, political or anything discriminatory unless the swap is for this. I'm not likely to read any marketing sent to me. Thank you for understanding.
I'm telling you this because I think you want to send me something I'll really like, not because I'm fussy and don't appreciate your efforts. :)
Ratings I expect that swap ratings arefor what the swap description states and ratings should be based on that. I do not like being told to put in extras to buy a heart. It is not what I believe swap-bot is about.
Late swappers If you are friendly, communicate with me and let me know why you're running late you can still earn a heart.
If you don't receive a swap from me, please contact me before rating. I will always resend.
I reuse packages, envelopes, etc as we all need to be kind to the earth
I will re-gift swap-items, if you send me something which is perfect for someone else I may pass it on. Please don't think, I don't like the items you sent me. I will NOT, however take credit for your work.
You are more than welcome to re-gift or swap anything I send you - even if it is handmade. If you think it's good enough for someone else then please share, but please do not claim that my work as your own.
The Angel Honour Roll
I am happy to say some coordinators are on the ball and offer to Angel before I chase people up. Kudos to @TangleCrafts
The gorgeous and talented @crescendo sent me an awesome altered reusable bag as part of the 7 things in 7 days swap after seeing here that I needed an angel. How lucky am I?
