In case anyone is wondering why my number of swaps isn't increasing much, I am in a few round robins as part of the Aussie Swappers Group and it takes most of my postage budget. This year I have really focussed on journals. I haven't decided yet what to focus on next year but I'd like to be more pro-active in setting up swaps and round robins myself.
I am a single lady, in Perth on my own. No children unless you count the cats. The rest of my family lives in Qld. I work in a government job and love the money more than the work. I'm currently learning to drive and am looking forward to the change it will make in my life. I'd love to do something with my garden and grow vegies and such but can't really afford to do what I want yet, I need someone to get rid of the shrubs in there first. If you don't like something I give you, please, please, please re-gift or give-away with my blessings.
Counted thread work such as cross-stitch, blackwork and hardhanger, ordinary embroidery some beading and a bit of patchwork and quilting. I also design & make my own clothes. I appreciate fine tailoring and a great fit. I adore buttons. I also like some paper crafts such as card making and using scrapbooking products in that. I've recently discovered journals and am crazy about journal projects. I love using stickers, rub-ons and tags.
I love 70s music the most! I am finding a few new artists that I'd like to get to know more. Mostly I listen to soft rock. I do also enjoy nature sounds sometimes.
I love to read, favourites are chick lit and those detective stories that have chefs or bakers in them. I really enjoy the food descriptions and recipes. Books with cats in them are pretty good too. Favourite authors are Elizabeth Berg, Jodie Picoult, Mary Wesley, Dianne Mott-Davidson, Kerry Greenwood, Fannie Flagg and Katie Fforde
Sad but true - my favourite movie is Denis the Menace. It just had everything, comedy, drama, suspense. I loved The Castle so much I can quote from it. Others are Perfect World, Tea with Mussolini, Drug Store Cowboy, One Night at McCools. How to make an American Quilt, Shawshank redemption, the Green Mile, Saving Grace, Saving Mother. Sometimes B grade horror movies are a good pick such as Lake Placid or Return of the Sabre Tooth Tiger.
I got into Desperate Housewives somehow. Not usually my thing. I also enjoy most cooking and gardening shows. I also find that I end up watching "Brothers and Sisters" because it is on right after Desperate Housewives and I get intrigued by the time I've decided to turn off the tellie and go to bed.
My favourite animals are: Cats, seahorses, owls, butterflies, turtles and giraffes. Favourite colours/patterns are brights, pastels and pink or blue, cottage prints. I don't really go for earthy or dull colours.
Fabric - cotton fabric or quilting fabric is lovely, I use it for all sorts of things. An art journal, Gel pens, Used postage stamps, stamped images on their own or in multiples that I can colour and use on cards etc. DMC Threads, evenweave fabric for cross stitch, Size 24 - 28 Tapestry needles, sewing needles.Pretty notecards, ribbons, buttons. Handcrafted cards I can use. Scented candles, melts. Soaps, I don't have a bath or use handcreams etc so can't use those kinds of products. I do love those facial mud packs though. Hair ties are handy but decorative pins etc don't hold in my baby fine hair, although normal bobby pins do and those would be appreciated. I hope this is helpful for people. I really am very easy to please and have rarely ever got anything I didn't like. As a guide, I like things I can use rather than what I call "Dustables"
Pretty materials to craft with. I love getting the unexpected such as collage items or an unusual bookmark. Stickers, rub-ons, Tags etc. I love the Seven gypsies and Urban Grey ranges. Feel free to craft your heart out I am usually delighted. I prefer silver or pewter finishes to gold. I adore unusual threads, hand dyed fabric, or items related to my likes. I don't wear much jewllery, but if you crafted an item I enjoyed I would wear it all the time, like a necklace I got given. I love personalised stuff like zines, journals, recipes and handcrafted cards.
