I am a single lady, in Perth, Western Australia. No children yet but I am getting fertility treatment. Looking forward to being a Mum and can't wait! My cat is my furbaby. The rest of my family lives in Qld. I work in a government job doing the administration of environmental licences.
My garden is getting up and going. I am still sorting out what I can grow in each season. I water every day in summer to keep everything alive. I am a fan of fly-lady and am loving my de-cluttered house and trying to learn to get on with my chores rather than finding excuses to get out of them! Being decluttered makes that easier.
I am also a fan of re-gifting so never feel you have to hold on to something because I put a lot of effort in. I'd rather it be cherished than tolerated. I got my licence just over a year ago and am still in love with how much easier life is with a car. I joined the Australian Sewing Guild and the local book club and am trying to find ways to get out more and make face to face friends.
Counted thread work such as cross-stitch, blackwork and hardhanger, ordinary embroidery some beading and a bit of patchwork and quilting. I also design & make my own clothes. I adore buttons.
I also like paper crafts such as card making and using scrapbooking products in that. I have joined Craftmad Forum and have added regular card swaps to my projects. Certainly a challenge sometimes and I'm learning new techniques.
Here on Swapbot I discovered journals and am crazy about journal projects. I love using stickers, rub-ons and tags.
I love 70s music the most! I am finding a few new artists that I'd like to get to know more. Mostly I listen to soft rock. I do also enjoy nature sounds sometimes.
I love to read, favourites are chick lit and those detective stories that have chefs or bakers in them. I really enjoy the food descriptions and recipes. Books with cats and/or sewing in them are pretty good too. Favourite authors are Elizabeth Berg, Jodie Picoult, Mary Wesley, Dianne Mott-Davidson, Kerry Greenwood, , Barbara Kingsolver, Fannie Flagg and Katie Fforde. From my childhood I have soft spots for Beatrix Potter, Enid Blyton and S E Hinton.
I rarely go to the movies. I'd prefer to save my money for craft stuff and watch movies at home. Sad but true - my favourite movie are The Castle, Denis the Menace, Tea with Mussolini, Saving Mother, Drugstore Cowboy, Shawshank Redemption, Saving Grace, One Night at McCools, the Green Mile. Sometimes B grade horror movies are a good pick such as Lake Placid or Return of the Sabre Tooth Tiger.
I honestly don't usually like soaps but did manage to get into Desperate Housewives somehow, also Brothers and Sisters. I also enjoy most cooking and gardening shows. Big Bang Theory and The Middle are other faves. I wish Kath and Kim was still going I used to enjoy that.
My favourite animals are: Cats, seahorses, owls, butterflies, turtles and giraffes.
Favourite colours/patterns are brights, pastels and all shades of pink or blue, I like cottage prints rather than modern ones. I don't really go for earthy or dull colours.
As a guide I tend to enjoy things I can use rather than what I call "dustables".
Fabric is always appreciated, I use it for all sorts of things. Other stitching items and supplies such as buttons, embroidery threads, ordinary threads, zippers, needles, ribbon, and cross stitch supplies are always welcome.
Paper crafting supplies such as decorative paper, art journal, gel pens, used postage stamps, rub ons, stickers, scrapbooking supplies, stamped images that I can colour and use on cards etc.
Stuff I can use in swaps such as pretty notecards, handmade envelopes or letter sets.
I don't have a bath or use handcreams etc so can't use those kinds of products but I enjoy the occasional gift or other soap. I also love those facial mud packs. Hair ties are handy but decorative pins etc don't tend to hold in my baby fine hair.
I particularly love Christmas postage stamps and card senders will definitely get hearts if there are christmas stamps on the envelope.
I hope this is helpful for people. I really am very easy to please and have rarely ever got anything I didn't like. I appreciate handcrafted items.

Thank you for being such a very sweet angel and sending me the bookmark you made with love! It's almost too pretty to use but I will use it and think of your generosity each time I read. Patricia
Thinking of you and wishing you a glorious summer!
Thank you so very much for the pretty card and lovely, thoughtful letter. What you wrote was very touching and brought tears to my eyes. Also, your talk about your sweet peas made me smile. My mother's name was Penny, and when she was young, some of her family and friends called her "Sweet P":) I've never had much of a green thumb, but you've inspired me to consider growing some sweet peas of my own. I am so sorry to see at the top of your profile you are dealing with your own loss and grief now. That must have come after you sent my letter. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I am putting your card up on my bulletin board to remind me of you & your kindness. (((hugs)))
