strawberry or bottlecap pincushion swap

is this for the bottlecap pinchshions and/or a strawebrry pincushion or can it be any small pincushion?

I am wondering the same thing. i think it'd be more fun if it was any kind of small pin cushion

Hej Noel - I am dropping out on this... I thought, I could do bottlecap pincushions, but seriously I can not... Did two, and they look not at all like I planned them. Know you r limits :-) they are too tiny and too difficult for me, I resign. However, I would love to give the strawberries a try, and though I am not in the swap, I will ask you to please also send the pattern to me? Thank you - and so I may join in the next one. After a wee bit - or long bit! - of practice!

Dont drop out. If you could see some of the things ive made, I should never have started. You know we are harder on ourselves than others are. We all see something diff. You see the mistakes and we see the finished item. most times we cant find the mistake.

Hi everyone! I made a "practice" bottle cap pincushion the other day and I love how it turned out! The thing is I used one of the bigger caps from the 1 liter bottles. They seem to be a little easier to work with so maybe give those a try. I'll post a picture of it on my flickr site so you can see how it turned out.

I am going to use silica gel. It works really well in the 2 strawberries i was given as gifts. Emery was like really expensive, and I have the gel from where I was drying flowers.

Hi all -- I have a question... where do you buy emery or other fine sand for these? I know I've heard about a variety of things used for fill, and am trying to decide what to use. Thanks - Katie

Emery is at the hardware store. I think they call it buffing powder. And the sand is aquarium sand. I saw sand at Michaels yesterday in the floral accessories.

Its been a long time since anyone had a comment. Are you all still out there or lost in cyberspace?

NieceDenise perhaps the are all working very hard to finish there pincushions ! My pincushion is on his way to..... no I'm not telling it . Its send on 4/16 so it can arrive any day now . :o))

have so many peeps flaked out or just forgotten to check send, i WONDER! there will be no way i can make up for 13 no sends and that means alot of unhappy swappers, lets begin to think about being a swap angel ...sigh.........anyone who wants to angel, please make a note here........anyone who needs on in 2 weeks time.check back and coordinate with that person, once you have sent become someones angel, post it here ...that way you do not have to angel twice, unless you want to:)

i would offer to personally coordinate angels with swappers but this is way to many and i feel it more efficent to do it this way:)

Emma and I are both home sick. My pincushion is ready to go out, I just have to mail it to igobylori. I'm sorry that it will be a couple of days late getting in the mail, Lori, I hope you can forgive a little delay.

Well, I still have not received a pincushion :-( Maybe I will still be lucky! Would suggest another pincushion swap with 5 ratings ONLY looking at the no shows.

Hope mine have arrived safely, and maybe I will be an angel if I get my swap. I think I can fit one in before I move home on the 19th May! Noel thanks for trying to help with the no shows.

3 extra days and still 9 people with no send !!!!!!!! Well this isn't funny at all !!!! You all made commitments about sending something nice ON TIME . Think about the one who's waiting for a package . I'm getting very angry about : late senders , no senders , deleted accounts . I allready missed several swaps GRRRRRRRRRRR it is very frustrating

There are 4 no sends - I'm one of them - I will check it off after I post my pincushion tomorrow or the next day - Emma and I will be up and about by then - well, me really, she's feeling better antibiotics are a wonderful thing! I have cleared it with my receiving partner and announced my delay here on the swap thread.

I find the messaging to be very stressful this time. Noel, when you extend the deadline you are giving people extra time to send. No one is required to send before that date. The deadline date is the last day to post it, not the last date to receive by!

People were moaning that they didn't receive by May 8, the deadline date. Goodness! I know I usually mail almost as soon as partners are assigned, but I don't have to. I do it to get things out of the way for me and keep things flowing and I though I wish others would but I understand that some people wait for that last day.

Keep you chins up, girls. I can also do a swap fairy if required. I made 4 strawberries!

Oh Joandemma no one is blaming you . Please don't take it to personal because you did the right thing ! You mailed you would be late on the list and to your partner . Live isn't always working out like we planned . I think all swappartners will understand a delay as long as we mail them to warn them . You're right the deadline isn't the recieving date but the ultimate send date . So to many people had "no sends" after there name ! Please try to understand the frustration from swappers who allready missed several swaps .Don't know why but I always get the no-senders :o((( Does any one know where I can get a lucky star ??? :o))))

A little tip : as soon as I sign up I start collecting the items and put them in several plastic boxes , one for each swap ( only possible if you don't need the personal prefences ) When the partners are assigned well most of the time I've got all I need to send .

I'm one of the last senders, I posted my package on 7 may but here in France we have in may many public holidays and 8 may is one ! So it could take more time to come on the over side of the sea :-)) I hope Joanna will receive it very soon !! Last swap "cotton swap" the package I sent was lost so I had to send another one. Sorry I made a mistake : I sent to you !! Joanna is the name of an other swap partner :-))) The cotton sawp package was in fact not lost : it has taken only ONE MONTH to cross the sea!!! so my partner will receive the 2nd package as a present for her patience !!!
