I've never done any before, just signed them. This swap is perfect to get started, thank you!

I'm interested, but havent ever seen a slam. I tried to find some online with no luck. I really love decos, fb's, and journal swapping. I think slams are probably similar?

yes. I have seen different ones. List slams have topics on every page like "5 fave books" or "7 striped animals". everyone choses one list and fills it out before the salm is sent on. Sign if ones usually have a topic. The one I got once was "Sign if you have it a home" and then on each page was one word like "TV" or "huge fridge" and you just sign it with your name when you have it. There is usually one page where you put your address label. I hope this helps a little bit.

How many pages do they usually have? And size?

I'm thrilled to see this swap! I've seriously been needing new slam swappers. I have two and each one of those have two (each other) so I guess you could say it's like a triangle and we all needed new slam swappers..lol :D

i found some good information on www.makingfriends.com. also read some history on the slam books. it started in the 40's and apparently popular in the 60's. the pages were all numbered on the left side to write your name. the following pages were numbered the same. at the the top of the page was a question and you answered the questions on your numbered line. for instance: on the first page of the book, on line number "1" i would write my name :denise. on paged 2, the question might be name your favorite color so on that page on the line numbered one i would write: green. whenever someone read the book they would know all my answers were mine on every line numbered ;1. these were popular within a circle of friends and considered secret information. they were called "slam" books so when a teacher or parent came by, you would slam it shut. i hope this history is accurate and helpful. i have not seen one or done one. i saw some of this info on a phillapino site and girl scout site. i am sure there are lots of versions out there.
