for me, it doesn't matter what language the paper is in

Obstminkerl 05/ 2/2010 #

Draco what do you mean "it doesn't matter what language the paper is in". I live in Austria, so the newspaper would be in German...what if that would be a problem for someone...???? I cannot translate the whole newspaper?! Watching for now! :o)

Nika 05/ 2/2010 #

and I'm from Hungary . would it be a problem if I sent my swap in Hungarian?

VerkaCZ 05/ 2/2010 #

and what about newspaper in Czech language? :-D

TheLambdaCalculus 05/ 2/2010 #

I don't speak anything but English, so as cool as it would be to get a local newspaper in a foreign language I don't know if I'd fully appreciate it?

That being said, a regional or even major newspaper from a different country/region would probably contain all sorts of localized stuff that would be interesting!

draco 05/ 3/2010 #

what i mean by "it doesn't matter what language the paper is written in" means that i am willing to take a paper from a different country that is not written in english (if anything, maybe i can pick up a few words in another language)

Obstminkerl 05/ 3/2010 #

yes, draco I think we all understand what YOU are willing to receive ;o) The question is what are our partners are willing to receive? Maybe you could make that a part of the swapinfo - that the partners might be aware that the newspapers could be in another language than english since this swap is international.

I don't want to get a bed rating just because my partner may not be able to read German and thought he/she would receive a newspaper written in English.

I wouldn't mind other languages. Czech or German, no problem , I will not read them only just see, have a look at it. What if it would be a magazine for women , not only a newspaper?

Nika 05/ 4/2010 #

I meant a magazine of your country , not an adopted one ( like Cosmopolitan, Elle , Marie Claire etc.)

You can always translate the titles of the articles on freetranslation.com. I have actually translated newspaper articles by scanning the article, saving it to my computer, then copying and pasting it on freetranslation.com. Just a thought.

Hi!

We don't really have local newspapers... should I send the local pages of a national newspaper? or should i send the whole national newspaper?
