Description:

Do you enjoy the thought / proces of keeping a journal but need the extra push of having a partner to send to in order to actually write the journal? Join the crowd - you are not the only one.

This swap is for a journal that you will keep for 6 months - August 1, 2010 - January 31, 2011 (feel free to begin writing in your journal as soon as you join the swap). You will then have an extra 15 days to finish it if you need to add anything to it and mail it off.

The size of the journal is sender's choice (no smaller than 5 x 7) as well as whether you chose to use a compostion book, 5 subject spiral or make your own journal to write in and send.

The journal is completely sender's choice as to the content - some suggestions include your day to day life, using prompts, drawings, etc - make it full of you and definitely send something that you would want to receive. Your journal should have a minimum of 50 entires (that is 2 entries a week plus 2 bonus entries.) I know personally I hate sending a journal with blank pages in the back because you know that they are never going to get used - they are just going to sit there begging for an entry but will never get - so try and make sure that your journal is full and bursting with entries. This is all about the journal and content - NO EXTRAS!!!!! I am not saying what is heart worthy for others but for me it is a journal that is chucked full of entires about your day to day life - maybe the use of some prompts for when we are having a boring day - pictures of things that go with your entry (i.e. I talk about my kids there would be a picture of my kids), newspaper clippings - whatever but a journal that is bursting at the seams with written goodness.

This journal DOES NOT need to be handwritten - I know that some people prefer only handwritten but it is not nesseccary for this swap.

Now for the nitty gritty - you have to be in the USA to particiate (sorry international friends but I cannot send internationally due to cost - PLEASE feel free to start an international version) ... ... you must have a rating of at least 4.98 with no 1's or 3's in the last 3 months (you can feel free to pm me with your story but understand that I reserve the right to say no) ... ... you must have previously participated in a minimum of 10 Type 3 swap package swaps here at Swap-Bot. I reserve the right to ban anyone. You will need to check in here as it is a long term swap and major commitment - if you do not chcek in or respond to my pms I reserve the right to skip you when mailing so that everyone actively participating receives a journal.

I think that is everything - please feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Does it have to be 6 months or can it be mailed once we reach 50 entries?

browniemommie2005 07/21/2010 #

No, it is a 6 month journal - you may have more entries but you will at least have 50 when you mail - 2 each week and 2 bonus entries. If you write daily you will have close to 180 entries - that is too much for some people but they are comfortable with 2 a week.

Thanks!

QUESTION ~ Can we use two Comp Notebooks if we fill up the first one too soon???

browniemommie2005 07/23/2010 #

yeah I guess but you could also get one of the 3 or 5 subject notebooks to use and if you do not fill it all up you could remove the last few pages

I am still thinking about joining.. i have just been flaked on too many times in the past few months.. though i still might join before the signup date..

knitzwithcatz 07/25/2010 #

this will be fun to do! a way to share without being judged. i just found a nice 5x7 journal at office depot. fits in my purse so i can take it to work to write in. i do hope more people join!

Can we put "stuff" in it - pictures, souvenirs, etc or is this more of a written journal versus an art journal type?

browniemommie2005 07/28/2010 #

it can definitely have some stuff - for example I have an entry about taking my kids to the zoo and on the next page attached a copy of our zoo's map. a good mix I say :0)

Looks like our hostess has been p/s and not on since oct 19th. This journal swap is looking like it may bomb..I know the person I am, to send to hasn't been on and the one I am to receive from is also mia!

gothbarbie 12/18/2010 #

that is sad news! I have been working on this the whole time, maybe we should all look up our partners before anyone sends, then confer her about rerouting journals...

gothbarbie 12/18/2010 #

@Kraftykj i am trying to message everyone so we can confer on this... for some reason couldn't message you. I posted a thread in the forum so we can try to sort this out - no one should be flaked on for this swap!

I'm still doing mine, and have been in contact w/ the person I'm to send to, but I'm supposed to receive from the host! This is not good! Hopefully this can be cleared up soon.

The persons I send and receive from are still active.

USAFwife 01/29/2011 #

So, I'm supposed to get a journal from the host, who is suspended. What's going to happen? Has anyone heard from her or about her? Know what happened?
