Okay, so the whimsey jar got a lot of votes in the survey, so I thought I would give this a go.

Fill and decorate a jar with smallish items. I ask that the decoration of the jar be in any kind of pagan theme (senders choice) and that the items you fill it with be primarily pagan, but you are also allowed to add some non-pagan things as long as they are profile related. And remember to look at the profile for dislikes or allergies and avoid that.

Because this swap is international, I am not going to insist on a glass jar, because I know they can be pricey to mail (you can if you want to though). But it MUST be a nice jar! I have seen really cute clear square jars out there that would be great. And the jar does not have to overly decorated, sometimes some ribbon, a few symbols and a tag is enough!

The size of the jar is up to you, as long as you spend a minimum of $10 before postage on the jar & contents. And do fill the jar to the brim ;-)

To sum up:

  • 1 jar decorated in any pagan theme which will be senders choice (so you can start on the jar now)

  • Fill the jar with pagan items in general or something profile related.

  • Look carefully for dislikes and allergies and respect that i.e. do not send that stuff.

  • Jar size is up to you, but spend $10 on jar & content before postage, and please fill the jar UP. It should be as full as possible.

that's a wonderful swap, but for now I can't tell if i can join. I'll see later towards the date. :)

Greenwoodtree 01/ 2/2011 #

I wish the date was later...I want to join but already have other swaps due at the same time. Maybe if another one is started in the future. I've never done a whimsy jar because Im not into knickknacks, however, a pagan one could be fun :)

It's not a problem, I moved the date a bit. I just choose a random date anyway, makes no difference to me moving it one way or the other ;-)

Can I just comment that I definitely dont use or have any pentacles, and would really appreciate not receiving - my symbol is usually the triskele or tree. :) thank you

This sounds awesome!!!

stuffbystephanie 02/ 3/2011 #

I love this idea! Can you give some examples of pagan items to put in a whimsey jar?

Morgaine 02/ 8/2011 #

@stuffbystephanie crystals, spell candles, tealight candles, herbs, incense, jewellery with pagan themes, little figurines with pagan themes, tiny ornaments, fridge magnets, spell scrolls.

The sky is the limit, let your imagination run wild. Just remember to check for allergies and such. I for one cannot have anything strongly scented, especially candles and incense.
