Description:

I have put back the sign up date (again) and send by date by a few more days days to accomodate some interested members and to fit the swap around some plans of my own.

I took part in a similar swap a while ago and really enjoyed making magnetic poetry words for my partner and decided I would host my own version at some point. So where better to do such a swap than here in our wonderful wordy group of literature loving lovelies?

The nitty-gritty:

You will make 1 partner a minimum of 20 individual words, 5 of which must be what I term 'basics' such as 'the' 'and' 'was' 'her' 'to' 'from' or any others you think may be especially useful. You may make more than 20 words if you wish and include more of the 'basic' words also.

Half of the total amount of words you make must be hand made, ie written/printed/stamped by you, the rest can be from books, papers, magazines etc.

There will be no theme as such, but since this is Cup & Chaucer, let's include a few words relating to the relevant theme - for this swap - of reading/books/literature etc.

Some ideas might be: read, paper, page, fold, book, bind, written, novel, story, paragraph, ink, print, chapter and so on.

You must also create a diversity in overall style/look for each 'word' so you could type some, hand write others, stamp some, maybe use different patterned and coloured paper, just make each word different and appealing to the eye but make sure they are all legible.

You will also make a box to keep the poetry words in, this can be a large matchbox or food box or you can make your own following a template but you must decorate the box in a 'wordy' fashion, for example you could type some words onto coloured paper, stamp some lettering or alphabets, cut out lettering and words from books or papers, the possibilities are pretty much endless and I dare say you can come up with some fab ideas.

package it all up nicely, however you wish and send it off with a good luck kiss! (oooh that almost rhymed!)

Being in the UK, I know a couple of places where I can get the kind of magnetic tape I need, but I assume it is easy enough to get in the US and other places. But if anyone knows anywhere specific that may be of help to your fellow countrymen then please mention the store or pop a link in the comments below if there is somewhere online.

I am giving a month for this as it should be a fun, creative, no pressure poetry adventure.

I think I have covered the main points, I do not feel the need to go into an essay about quality and tardiness or ratings etc so just pop any queries, questions or things I may have forgotten in the comments, cheers =D

Michaels sells some business card size magnetic sheets. It comes with about 5 or so in a packet, and are peel and stick. They could be handy.

Pushed back date is better for me... I will keep my eyes peeled for magnetic sticky stuff! It's not that I can't get it... just not sure I can get it IN TIME. :)

I have about 10 ad magnets I'd like to get rid of. You could probably alter these by adhering paper over the top and cutting them into strips. All of them are pretty big. Just PM me if you'd like me to send you one or two to use. I love to reuse and recycle. I probably won't be doing the swap myself as I don't have much time to craft at the moment.
