Description:

Remember NaNoWriMo, that 30-day challenge that comes around every November? This swap is for all who have participated in the past.

Did you win NaNo? Maybe you hit 50K, but the book isn't done. You won, but haven't done any editing.

Did you fall short -- or even way short -- of the 30-day goal?

Whichever camp you fall in, this is the swap to pull out that manuscript and work on its revisions or getting to The End or making more progress on the word count.

Post below:

  • the name of your NaNo novel
  • the year you took up the challenge
  • Your goal for the next two months

If you recall it (or can look it up from the 2010 challenge), also post your Nov. 30 word count.

Now, what you'll send your partners at the end of May is your progress report. Like NaNo itself, this is a self-reporting, honesty thing.

(Those who won NaNo know there's a cool prize awaiting you at the site under your Winner Goodies, so use this swap to get you there!)

Let's get writing and revising!

Title: Cirque Year: 2010 Goal: 25,000 words to finish the story.

Great idea, Artistic! Mine is The Clockwork Talisman. I would like to finish a clean draft of chapters 1-5. To me a clean draft is the one before the final edit which polishes it before going off to to an editor or agent.

Oops left off some of the info required. this novel is from the 2010 Nano. Word count on Nov 30 was 52,319.

Title: "Mercy, Mercy Me"

Year: 2010

Word count at end of NaNo: 51,963 words

Goal: Get to 75,000 words (which will put me in the ballpark of The End)

Title: Warrior Scribe

Year:2010

Word Count at end of Nano: 50,080

Goal: I want to have it reworked (a massive undertaking), edited and ready to claim my free print. I hope to have it very close to (if not ready) to be submitted for publication. Or to sell as an e-book.

Title: The Friendship Quilts

Year: 2009

Word count at end of Nan about 60,000, current word count about 120,000

Goal: to keep on collecting rejections to queries and submissions until someone says yes or I feel rich enough to self-publish

Title: Skyler the Skurl

Year: 2010

Wordcount after Nano: 50,001 (barely eked out that win!)

Goal: Confront the book! I've been to scared to look at any of the words since Nano. My goal is to slash the trash, and see what I have left to work with. (It's a kids book, so I get whittle away at my wordcount intstead of add to it!) I hope I have enough of a rough draft that I feel comfortable showing to another person, so I can determine if it's worth the effort to rewrite and edit further.

OK, ladies. All of goals are listed above and partners have been assigned. Let's get writing, revising and finishing!
