Description:

Do you have a ton of grocery bags cluttering up your kitchen? I sure do - I stuff them in the mixing bowl of my KitchenAid and while it might be convenient, it looks...tacky.

I know many people use reusable grocery bags, but I sometimes get plastic bags because they make great lunch sacks for my husband and for putting wet swim suits in, and taking messy things places. I just don't like how they clutter up my kitchen. :-)

I thought it would be a neat to make grocery bag holder!

For this swap we will:

  • Create a Grocery Bag Holder using this tutorial.

  • To help ensure that we choose something that our partners will like, please post some ideas to guide your partner in the swap comments. This could be a color, style, pattern, or even something you would prefer not to receive (such as no novelty prints or no Civil War reproductions). This is not intended to make it very difficult for your partner to shop for you, but rather it is meant to help give them some guidance in making this a stellar swap for you.

  • If you would prefer to receive a holder in all one color, please list that in your preferences below.

  • If your partner would prefer a holder all one color – use 1 piece of fabric, 20 x 25 inches instead of 9 pieces of fabric, 20 x 3 1/2 inches.

  • Sending on time and packaging swaps carefully are swap requirements.

  • Please include a little note to your partner so they know what swap it is, and who you are.

  • This swap is international.

Participant requirements:

You must have no unexplained/unresolved 1s/3s (please PM if there are extenuating circumstances). Participants will not have any overdue swaps at the time of partner assignment and must have at least 5 completed/rated Type 3 swaps (crafts/packages). Participants must also have a rating of 4.95 or higher.

Happy Sewing!

I'd love a stripey bag with florals or fruits..surprise me with the colour, I do not like batiks. Many thanks in advance.

I have been meaning to make a couple of these! I like fun, modern, funky fabric in all colors, and I love batiks. I love the fabric from the picture above. I don't like reproduction prints or country calico fabric. I don't care if it's made from one fabric or 20 different ones. Have fun!

Bright and fun for me

My kitchen is Primitive country - Amish - so anything in the browns, black, rust and creme colors. Just incase I do decide to display. New puppy so she may think it is a toy but still can use in my recycling cabinet!

I'm going to put this is in my laundry room, which I have yet to redecorate, but I'm planning to use bright colors. I always lean towards yellow, but I also like bright blues, greens pinks, and oranges. So I guess I'm not too picky, I just like bright colors.

Anything bright and cheerful! It would be great if it made me smile everytime it catches me eye. Red/white/blue combo is wonderful too. I'm not too picky, just don't like dark or smudged/drab colours (like mustard yellow...)

I will really love something in brown-mint-and blue colours, but any way, any bright colour will be great )

I reuse the bags to clean up after my dogs. I hang the grocery bag holder on the basement door but I could use one upstairs in the bedroom to clean up after the new puppy. The bags are also great for lining the bathroom trashcans. Any color is fine with me. What a great idea for a swap!!!

Mine is going to go in the closet of my kindergarten classroom... so, think kids and primary colors. Whatever you would like to make for my kids and me will be wonderful.

I would love anything bright and colorful! I don't care for neon or pastel, and I love patterns! I love more modern prints, but I'm pretty easy to please!
