I enjoy all kinds of music, from classical to bluegrass! I play piano and a little banjo. My favorite music to listen to is 50s-60s and Doo Wop.
I love to read and my favorite types of books are historical novels, not to be confused with historical romance. I love to read about different countries and their cultures and especially those written to depict the 1600s through the early 1900s.
I love scrapbooking and have been doing that for about 15 years! I have 4 kids who were mostly grown when I started, so it was a real challenge to get their albums done from birth to graduation! I just went in and counted all the scrapbooks I've done, 26 to date! I must admit that I am a year behind now, because I have discovered ATC cards and Swap-bot, so I don't spend as much time on the scrapbooks as I used to. Speaking of ATC's, they are just the cutest things! I can't get enough of them! I also am a card maker, and I enjoy that so much! All my friends and family wait for a special day and they know they will get a "Linda" original! I also enjoy sewing. I used to make all my clothes, but now I just sew curtains, dish towels, napkins, pillowcases and an occasional tablecloth.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 35 years! We have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. We have children in North Carolina, New York City and Kansas City, Kansas! We spend lots of time on the road to visit kids and grandkids. We are retired, but I am an RN and I try to work 1 day a week to help with travel expenses!
I sometimes think I was born in the wrong century. I love vintage and retro things, particularly from the mid 1800's to around 1966. I can spend hours looking at vintage images on the internet and trying to figure out how I could use them in projects. I love vintage ephemera. Most of the items I make for Swap-bot trades are vintage in nature. I am a paper hoarder! Can't get enough paper and paper stacks, although I have made a vow to not buy anymore for a year, unless a project calls for a color I just absolutly can't find in my stash. I love great and inspiring quotes, and I love to use them in my projects. I have begun to experiment with different mixed media and techniques, and I am not so scared anymore to move out of my comfort zone, but my scraproom is getting so full of stuff! I've found that I can't throw anything away anymore.....it just may be something I can use on a project! I am fascinated with stamping and have collected alot of great stamp sets. I have a cricut and I love to experiment with it and cut all kinds of things. I get alot of cricut scraps, mostly nice things but just not the right size I was aiming for, so I give away alot of my cricut cuts as extra goodies when I send a swap.
There are just a few things I don't really care for: I love my dog, but not much into other animals..well, I do like elephants! I am not a fan ot the occult. I do love halloween stuff, even a cute witch or silly vampire, but not the real-looking kind! My favorite color is red, but I love lots of other colors, too, although I lean toward bright, cheery colors, not pastels. That's about it....I'm not too picky. I am always amazed by all the talent out there!
