SAHM with 2 teenagers. Eternal optimist. Love to laugh, read, sew, dream, craft and create, spend time outdoors and play games with my kids. :) We live on a farm, complete with chickens and horses and I love animals, especially the odd ones (Think armadillo, Hedgies, squirrels, owls, possums, etc.) I'm a Girl Scout Troop leader of 35 middle school/High schoolers and we do lots of camping, traveling, orienteering and the like. I tend toward to odd/wacky/unusual...anything that makes me laugh!
I LIKE: Emily the Strange, odd or cute Japanese stationery and kid stuff, monkeys, skulls/Dia de los Muertos stuff, Edward Gorey, Mark Ryden, Kawaii (but Hello Kitty is not my favorite- I do like San-X though), fairies (ones with attitude- NOT the Disney kind!), classic pin-ups ( Elvgren, Page, etc.), Sugar Free candies, ( I have a medical condition that predisposes me to getting diabetes, so I'm trying my best to keep from getting it!) I especially like Sugar Free Peanut Butter cups! Yum! :) Favorite colors: blue and black, but I love jewel tones too.
DON'T LIKE: color yellow, religious/Christian stuff (unless it's super quirky and tacky), "country style" anything, clowns, anything cartoon like Snoopy, Garfield or Disney (unless it's Lilo & Stitch), and the smell of cigarette smoke!
I have eclectic tastes in music and love just about anything except opera. :) Some of the stuff I like includes Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Lyle Lovett, AC/DC, Joe Walsh, Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Spearhead, Eminem, acoustic guitar, piano (like George Winston, etc.), acapella and anything Blues. (Did I mention eclectic??) :)
I love to read...I have too many favorites to count!! I do tend towards genres of fantasy/sci fi though. Of most recent reads however...I liked the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series, Christopher Moore (anything by him...but just finished Fool), Carl Hiassen, Diana Gabaldon, George Martin, etc. I'm also an art/craft/sewing book junkie...I'm amassing quite the collection! :)
Favorite movies: Wizard of Oz, Mars Attacks, Braveheart, MIB, Pirates of the Carribean (Mmmm...Johnny Depp!) ;) Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, (Jeez- anything Tim Burton!), and Princess Bride (Hello...My name is Inigo Montoya...) ;)
CSI, Law and Order SVU, Dexter, Walking Dead (love LOVE this show!!), True Blood, reruns of Dead Like Me (so sad that isn't on anymore!), Glee, Project Runway, Grimm (filmed here in Portland!), MST3K, BSG, and The Tick (the animated series and comic (Spoon!!!) ;)
Again...eclectic! I don't care for anything "cutsie" craft-wise, ( for example cartoons, crochet angels, tole painted cows or "country" themed anything) but other than that... I have become addicted to ATC's lately but I do everything from sewing clothes and quilts to stamping, cardmaking, watercolors, jewelry making...you name it, I've probably at least dabbled in it! :)
Please know I take my sign-ups seriously and will NEVER flake on a swap. If I sign up, I WILL send , and always prior to the deadline, so let me know if you don't get something a reasonable amount of time, it'll likely mean something has happened to it en route. (So far, so good-I haven't had any problems with the USPS-even out of country) :) Also, I always rate as soon as I get things, so if you have not gotten a rating in a reasonable amount of time, it means I have not gotten what you sent, not that I was lazy and didn't rate you. :)
I would love any of the following: fun/quirky personalized return address labels, ephemera, cute/quirky letter sets, beads (anything but NO plastic pony beads please!), fabric/trims, atc or cardmaking supplies, atcs, and music mix cd's. :) Oh- and I've lately I've been lusting after chopsticks and cute bento boxes! ;)

That's funny that you caved- I did too on one of mine- well, I knew it was a fink flamingo ornament cause his little feet were poking out of the wrapping. The chopsticks weren't exactly wrapped in a clever way. :-) Hope you like everything!
