Addicted to card making and assorted paper crafts.

I'm interested in image, paper, embellishment type swaps -- really anything card related. I'm hoping to swap internationally and have an opportunity to send/receive items that might not be available to myself or others locally.

Favourite colours are blues & blue-greens, chocolate brown and hunter green

I love country music. My favourites include the Dixie Chicks & Martina McBride.

Favorite Books

I am a voracious reader and always say that I will read anything -- a cereal box will do in a pinch! :)

I love the Diana Gabaldon Outlander series.

I also like Jim Butcher's books, J.R. Ward and Laurell K. Hamilton.

My tastes tend to run towards science fiction/fantasy. But I also love a good thriller. In that genre, you can't beat Jeffrey Deaver or James Patterson.

Favorite Movies

Hmmm... that always changes. Currently, I am in love with the movie "Eat, Pray, Love". I also just finished reading the book and it was just as good. Generally, I really enjoy movies that are made based on books I've enjoyed reading. I really don't like comedies, but prefer dramas and thrillers.

Favorite Crafts

Cardmaking... I've only just recently started making cards but I love it. I also just joined an ATC group that I'm really enjoying. We swap cards once a month and it's wonderful seeing everyone's creations and being inspired.

My favourite card techniques are colouring (copic markers), embossing (dry embossing and heat embossing) and stenciling with brass stencils (like Dreamweaver).

Response: Keylee, I'm so glad it arrived. I've been worried that it might be lost... or indeed, still here in Canada! Based on postmarks, we still have not received any mail that was held up during the strike, unless you count the four grocery store flyers from June that I got this week! I'm glad you got the package and that you like it. I hope your pocky wasn't a hopeless melted mess. I only thought about it afterwards and realized it may not have been the best thing to include in this heat! Enjoy your treats and stay cool! :) Hopefully Canada Post will see fit to hand over my mail sometime in the near future! :)

Response: I'm glad you liked everything and that the towels and yarn were a good shade of green. I got worried when I re-read your profile and thought they might be too "pastel". I personally love those shades, but to each his or her own! :) I never even thought of the towels with the crocheted tops... or I would've sent the terry kind. I hope you'll post pictures of the creations you make with the beads (no rush, of course!) as I'd LOVE to see more of your work!

Comment: Late in rating you -- LOVE the images!! What line or company does all those "children" and the flowers (in squares)?? I might have to get some!! They are adorable and not ones I've seen. So many wonderful (and different than I have) images. Thanks so much!! I'll have a hard time using them and giving them up to projects. LOL
Response: The flowers in squares are a Magenta stamp (www.magentastyle.com) that I cut apart into four individual stamps. The children (if I know which ones you're talking about) are Greeting Farm stamps (www.thegreetingfarm.com). Glad you liked them! :) Thanks for rating and for the heart!

Comment: Thanks for picking designs I'd like so much! Distress ink is loads of fun. It works best if you wet it after you've applied it but if it's over something ink-jet printed that wouldn't work so well--makes me want a laser printer even more!
Response: I actually wet the paper before AND after -- even though it was printed on an Ink Jet. I thought if it blurred the writing a bit, that would add to the "aged" effect... but in retrospect, I wonder if, rather than applying ink directly to the paper, I should have tried mixing re-inker with water and spritzing it on... I really want to try again. :) Thanks for rating and for the heart and sorry again for making you play Sherlock!

Response: Laura, I'm glad you liked them... the "homemade" ones didn't turn out the way I'd hoped... I think I should have used a lighter hand with the ink. Or maybe used different colours. I'll have to give it another try and see if I can improve! :)
