I AM ALLERGIC TO LAVENDER. The smell sets me off so even if it is a synthetic scent it's no good for me. Also nuts in chocolate make me sick. And I NEVER drink tea or coffee. Hot choc is great though!

Apart from that I am a committed knitter and generally enthusiastic about crafts of all kinds. I live in London in the UK and work as the head of professional development for a charity. I'm married with no kids and no pets (but I love cats).

Knitting is my all time favourite activity so I thought I would add a bit of extra information here specifically about this. I also like crochet but do more knitting than crochet.

I knit a lot of socks but never use dpn's. I prefer the magic loop method and circulars to straights. I knit with all weights of yarn and enjoy using everything except novelty yarn. At the moment I have enough acrylic (actually I have enough everything - but it's my pension, right?) but would love more wool, cotton or mixed fibres.

I prefer strong colours to pastels but can find a use for most shades apart from light brown - it just says 'baby poo' to me.

I subscribe to Interweave and Knitters magazine and Verena online. I am always interested in the less mainstream magazines from the US and love vintage patterns. I can always use more stitchmarkers and tape measures and scissors seem to only want to stay with my for a few weeks of their lives.

Crime and detective. I read all the agatha christies when I was a teen and haven't looked back since. Also like comic crime like Kinky Friedman and Jasper Fforde.

I am a sucker for trash action. Blade, Van Helsing, Batman, Dodgeball, Underworld. Recently saw Tropic Thunder and thought it was great. Favourite film at the moment is Hot Fuzz.

Detective dramas. Love Numb3rs and Bones - so funny! Also Lewis, Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Marple old and new, Midsummer, PD James etc. Also big WWE fan - HHH and Cena are my favourites.

Knitting, crochet, dyeing, sewing, embroidery. Not ATCs.

If in doubt pens (biro, rollerball, gel, whatever) and propelling pencils (ones you can refil with leads) are ALWAYS good! I've got enough normal pencils (ones you need to sharpen) so no more for now please!

Likes: Polka dots - red with white dots on anything and I'll love it, rainbows, Old school strawberry shortcake and care bears, Red and Purple, Receiving post, buttons, fabric, Knitting - most favourite thing ever!, crochet, pens, propelling pencils, stationary, giraffes, cats, strawberries, cherries, milk and white chocolate, marzipan, sweets, well made hand-made things, kawaii, hot choc. kool aid for dyeing (therefore not the colourless ones).

Dislikes: Lavender, Acid/neon colours, Licorice, Tea/Coffee - herbal and normal, skulls, book marks, religious items (I respect your beliefs but I don't share them), chewing gum, nuts in chocolate, dark chocolate (high cocoa), Hersheys, dogs, beads (I have tonnes!), double pointed needles (for knitting), pencils that need sharpening.
