Hello, I’m Annaliese: feminist homemaker/stay-at-home-mom with one husband, two snails, three kids, three tiny fish, and five cats (this list is obviously not in order of importance to me 😂). We live in the forest in Adirondack Park in the great state of New York. I spend my free time gardening, making art (I consider our home my biggest canvas), snailmailing, reading, knitting, sewing, and journaling. My husband does all the cooking, which is great bc it makes him happy and he’s an incredible cook. It’s also great bc I have no desire to do it myself. 🙈
And now a bit about Swap-Bot:
I rate as soon as I receive my swap and hopefully my partners will do the same. Also, I will not flake on swaps; so if you do not receive something, it would be a mail issue. Please be sure to contact me before leaving negative feedback and I will do my best to fix the issue. We live in a rural area with hard winter half the year and sometimes the mail is slooooow.
Additionally, I will never give bad feedback when someone has put their time and money into doing a swap with me. Not everyone has the same idea about what is “good enough”; and not everyone has the same abilities, nor resources. There’s enough negativity in the world and life is hard enough. A person would have to really eff things up or be very obvious about sending crap to not receive a 5 and a heart from me. ❤️ What I can’t use I can give to someone who can.
Gnomes, witchy stuff, cats, wizards, dollhouse miniatures (1:12), homemaking, seasons, “use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without”, sewing, nature, occult, forests, ocean, coffee, gardening, mushrooms, plants, flowers, fairytales and folktales, reading, tarot, art (I love watercolor and paint in general), visible mending, pagan stuff (especially Celtic, Norse/Scandinavian, etc), Scandinavian and Nordic things in general, bats, Snow White, Lego (yes, I am an AFOL - Adult Fan of Lego 😁), crystals, genealogy, Elsa Beskow, googly eyes, reducing and reusing/zero waste, penpalling, philately, Waldorf-inspired parenting and living/learning, Edward Gorey, knitting, and bringing fun and happiness to the world at large.
❤️💙💛
Anything religious, racist, misogynist, etc. Otherwise, I’m not easily offended, and I can pass the things I can’t use on in other swaps. ^_^
I pretty much love all colors, but my very favorites are forest/darker green shades, purples, and black (at the moment 😁). I’m not into girly pinks or neons, though I do love periwinkle. 😊
I have an overload of playing cards (I have already completed my frankendeck), vintage illustrations and other vintage (and not-vintage) ephemera, and craft supplies. It would be great to renew my stash a bit, so please message me if you look at my profile and think you have some things you would like to swap!
My seven-year-old LOVES fairies, gnomes, etc and would appreciate anything having to do with those (childlike ones, not sexy type). Waldorf-ish stuff would be especially appreciated. :)
In no particular order:
Astrid Lindgren (Pippi Longstocking, Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, etc), Frances Hodgson Burnett (The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Little Lord Fontleroy, etc), Lucy Maude Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables series), J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, etc), Alice Hoffman (Magic Lessons, Practical Magic, etc), Charles Dickens, Tove Jansson (Moomintroll series, The Summer Book, etc), James Herriot’s books, Victorian literature, Beatrix Potter, Marta McDowell’s books about authors’ gardens, Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories, Jane Goodall (lifelong hero)…and many more. I am constantly reading!
