***July 24 Update --5 rounds of chemo down, 1 to go. After I complete all my open swaps, I'm going to take a break. Way too much mail is being lost both coming and going, the worst being 6 ATCs at one time :( I love Swap-bot and hope to be back.
***Mar 30 Update--Survived surgery :). Turns out I had ovarian cancer. Dr. believes he got it all (found very early) but I have to start chemo is a couple weeks. Positive thoughts and prayers very much appreciated!
I was a civil servant for 30 years before retiring as a Data Analyst from Department of Defense. I volunteer at our local library pulling books for inter library loans. I also do volunteer work at my church with an emphasis on education and outreach. I take care of three grandsons (ages 8, 7 and 3) living with us (husband Andy) while their mom tries to get her life together.
I love quilting, knitting, reading, letter writing, baking, and soap making.
I love nice paper, pens, fabric and yarn.
*****I ALWAYS send my swaps within a day of signup closing. If you don't receive my swap, please communicate with me first before leaving a bad mark. Thank you!
I grew up in the 80's, so 80's music rules! I love New Wave, particularly The Split Enz and Crowded House.
I usually prefer non-fiction, but have just finished the the Harry Potter series. Feeling kind of sad that it's all over. Finished 30 AD by Ted Dekker. An interesting fictional story of Yeshua (Jesus).
I also like James Patterson and John Grisham. Used to love Stephen King but got over it.
I like older movies. Favorites include Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston; The Ghost and Mrs. Muir with Rex Harrison; the Indiana Jones series. As much as I like the Harry Potter books, I DON'T like the movies!
I don't watch much tv. It's usually "second hand". When I do, it's usually TLC, the History Channel, National Geographic, and the like.
I've been quilting on and off for over 20 years. I have a number of machines and LOTS and LOTS of fabric. I could live on a deserted island (with electricity) the rest of my life and not use all that I have.
What can I say? I'm almost a hoarder. I have over 500 skeins of yarn. 98% of it is natural fibers, i.e. wool, followed by cotton and silk. I DO NOT use solely acrylic. Yuck!
I LOVE making Soap! I only started in July 2015 but quickly became obsessed. I made over 300 bars in a few short months. EVERYONE I know got soap for Christmas and their birthday. Made enough room to start again. ;)
I do everything 0 or 100%. No in between. The same goes for my love of paper and pens. While I have managed to part with a great deal of my paper, I still have a wonderful collection of pens. I'm always on the look out for the perfect pen. Even when I find one that I am very happy with, I can't help but think there is still one better. Hence my continued quest.
My main interest is ATCs, although I enjoy other swaps as well.
Postcards in envelopes unless swap says otherwise.
I appreciate whatever nice things you send. If for some reason it isn't my taste, I'll pass it on to someone who would enjoy it. So bring it on!
