I love love love to read and belong to three book clubs. All time favorites include any of Jane Austen's novels, Captain Blood, Harry Potter #3, and the Count of Monte Christo. Also do my best to read at least one mystery novel a week. I've tried to keep track of the books I've read but I would much rather read them than keep lists of them!

I also love to read regional lifestyle magazines and newspapers from elsewhere.

I love "Jersey-shore" style rock-n-roll (think Bruce Springsteen). Also like Motown and crooners like Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble. Country Music? No thanks, it's way too whinnnnnnnnnnnnney

I'm addicted to the Home and Garden channel, PBS Mystery, Project Runway and the nightly news.

What I like best about movies is the feeling of anticipation as you sit in the darkened theater and the story is about to unfold. I also like watching DVDs at thome. Tend to go for indies and chick flicks;' no shoot 'em ups please.

Like to knit (natural fibers); don't crochet (am left handed). Also like to cook (but that's because I like to eat!and have ambitions about learning to speak French and play the piano

I was born in the American Midwest, grew up in the East and now live in the Pacific Northwest. I've worked as a newspaper, magazine, book and technical editor. I'm married with a daughter in middle school. We have two dogs and four chickens.

I've always been interested in other places and like to travel. Favorite colors are blue and green. I drink both coffee and tea but don't go for herbal teas (and don't like chai).

Occasionally I'm in a swap where I ask that the package be mailed to my daughter Crosby. Crosby is 13, shows her American cocker spaniel in dog 4H, and also participates in chicken 4H, sings with a nationally known (in those types of circles) local youth choir and plays every sport she can get herself enrolled in. She also loves swaps and thinks things from other places are really cool (or rather "kewl").
