Sorry for any confusion lately. I have no excuse for my behavior lately. Apologies to anyone my actions a few days ago affected

July 29/08: I've moved! Now have a new address, the one that shows up now is correct :)

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT EMAIL If you have problems emailing me through my email account remove the "+swap" part of it. The purpose of having that as part of my email address is that it helps organize my inbox but I'll still get the mail without it. Some email programs don't recognize the "+" as being valid for an email address.

I'm a 26 year old single female in Nova Scotia. I'm in a bit of an odd space right now and not completely sure of what I like....but things I have liked in the not so distant past are geocaching, doing crafts, collecting lapel pins, and learning new things. I'm a struggling Christian. I'd like to go back to school at some point, if I ever figure out what I want to take. Someday I'd like to start (or help start) a Christian based drop-in center to help people with Mental Health Disorders and people who are or are at risk of being homeless in my city. I've had experiences with both (Major Depression and Borderline Personality Disorder) and with homelessness and have made tremendous progress but my experiences taught me that this city lacks a lot of basic and helpful services.
I'll be honest...I am struggling these days a lot with my mental health but I will do my best to not let it interfere with any swaps. I won't stay in a swap unless I feel I can meet the requirements and the deadlines. If by chance I miss a deadline and you haven't heard from me...it's because I'm in the hospital and I will contact and send as soon as I am out. But that said, I won't sign up to any if I don't think I can make the deadlines so the chances of that situation happening are slim. I just want to be honest, I'm not trying to make excuses or gain attention. I try to be open about my health (mental and physical) in hopes that someday someone else can realize that they aren't alone.
Kind of not sure about all the Christian stuff I have listed right now...I'm at a bit of a crossroads in that area but I'm leaving it up for now.

At times I like to freecycle. I have donated my hair twice now. I like Tinkerbell (especially if she's got a grumpy type look), stars, the colors blue, green, chocolate brown and orange. I love candy and at the same time I like organic and natural products. Go-figure. I'm currently under investigation for Lupus which severely affects my energy but hopefully it won't affect anything here. The only real problem I can foresee is that the incredible lack of energy at times might effect getting stuff to the post office...but I plan on sending early as much as possible so I can't see it being much of a problem. Anything I make (papercraft-wise) I sign Ello on it. Not sure why (other then it's the last four letters of my name in reverse) but I do. Been doing that for a couple years now. That's just my "mark" I guess.

I like a lot of Christian music such as Casting Crowns, Sara Groves, Michael W. Smith, Reliant K, Chris Tomlin, and so many more I can't even think of. When I listen to music it's usually either through youtube or myspace and I just let each song lead me to another.
I also like relaxation music...you know the type with nature sounds like the ocean, or a thunderstorm, or a winding stream. I'll list more as I think of some.
My all time favorite song (the one that touches my soul every time I hear it) is Angel on my Shoulder by Natalie Cole.
ER, House, Gray's Anatomy, Dr G: Medical Examiner, CSI, Little People Big World, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, What Not to Wear, All in the Family.
Unfortunately for me I know longer have cable and the 3 channels we do get don't come in all that well...so I don't watch much tv these days.
Under the Overpass by Mike Yankoski (I am always open to extra copies of this book so I can share it with others), the Bible, when I used to read a lot more I like most anything that was medical suspense...so books by Dean Koontz and Robin Cook were always near the top of the list. Confessions of a Shopaholic (would love to read the last few in the series). Trying to read more Christian type books lately but just haven't gotten into the reading mood lately. I don't really know right now what type of books I like the most.
Gosh, I'm a sucker for Disney and Warner Brothers Movies.
I love Shrek.
I also like Freedom Writers, The Holiday, August Rush, I am Sam, Gothika, The Green Mile.
I like most movies with Robin Williams, especially Patch Adams.
Grease, Now and Then, Turner and Hooch to name a few more.
I like Girl Interrupted but I have to be aware of the mood I'm in when I watch it because sometimes I find it brings me down.
I like doing collages, abstract painting with acrylic or tole paints. I have done some beadwork and would like to do some again soon. I'd like to try embossing but haven't had the opportunity or the finances to try that. I'd like to learn how to knit and sew at some point but it just hasn't happened yet. I do some rug hooking but it's taking me a very long time to get through one project. I tend to work on it for a bit, lose interest for a few months and then eventually go back to it. At that rate it's taking me years. LOL. I also like playing around with chalk pastels. I've tried scrapbooking and loved it but haven't had a chance to do anymore...I don't know, maybe I'm just not motivated enough at this point...or maybe it's the lack of supplies...or that I have a very small space to work in...or all of the above. I have started making ATC's although I have yet to trade any. I guess I'm still a little worried the quality might not be good enough...possibly true or possibly just a fear of mine. Anyone want some Hello Kitty ATC's? We can set up a trade, I made a set of 3. I'm also looking forward to seeing other swappers creations. Basically, I will try most things but I tend to get obsessed and then bored very quickly.
I want to try just about everything but finances and the fact I literally need a person who knows what they are doing to show me hand on how to things...or I won't get it...keeps me from doing much of anything.
I do have allergies, but nothing that I think would cause a major problem (except maybe very strong scents). If I got anything I couldn't use I would pass it on to someone else. No worries.
I am allergic to cigarette smoke though and would prefer nothing heavily smoky as I don't know anyone I can pass that on to. But most times by the time stuff goes through the post it's usually not so bad anyway.
For those allergic to cats, there shouldn't be any problem unless I work on something while I'm at my parents house. I am also allergic to cats (and dogs...actually most animal fur/dander for that matter) quite severely but if a couple stray hairs get in the package it's not a big deal.

In no particular order:
rennet tablets so I can try to make junket http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junket_(dessert))...i think when you click on the link you will need to the add the end paranthesis manually to get the right article...sorry
something you made
an ATC and/or a matchbox made by you
lapel pins (especially ones from Hard Rock Cafe, or that are touristy, or support firefighters, police, paramedics AND I love, love, love all the Vancouver 2010 Olympic pins especially the mascot ones!)
tinkerbell (especially if she's got a grumpy look)
carebears (especially Grumpy bear)
odd flavors of pocky - I've tried dark chocolate (Mens), Chocolate, Honey & Milk, Strawberry, Milk, and Green Tea. Any other flavors I would still love to try. Or the chocolate ones are always fine too. :)
other weird and wacky snack foods and candy that I can't get here (to my knowledge). Think Japanese kit kat bars, chocolates, chips, I will try most anything once no matter how weird it is...as long as it's a snack food. LOL.
