I'm a 27 year old single female in Nova Scotia.
Things I have liked in the not so distant past are geocaching (plan to do again), doing crafts (plan to do again), collecting lapel pins (plan to do again with restrictions, see wishlist below), and learning new things (always plan to do this).
I'm a struggling Christian. Someday I'd like to start (or help start) a Christian based drop-in center to help people with Mental Health Disorders and people who are or are at risk of being homeless in my city. I've had experiences with both Mental Health Disorders and with homelessness and have made tremendous progress but my experiences taught me that this city lacks a lot of basic and helpful services. At the very least I'd like to help collect, organize, and arrange donation for those in need...and am hoping to work towards this goal in the fall.

I have my eyebrow pierced recently, and I'm hoping soon to try out new funky jewelry. I have donated my hair twice now and plan to again someday. I like Tinkerbell (especially if she's got a grumpy type look), stars, the colors green (grassy), chocolate brown, blue (teal/aqua) and orange. I want to collect colorful and unique buttons and beads. love candy and at the same time I like organic and natural products. Go-figure.
I'm currently under investigation for Lupus which severely affects my energy but hopefully it won't affect anything here. The only real problem I can foresee is that the incredible lack of energy at times might effect getting stuff to the post office...but I plan on sending early as much as possible so I can't see it being much of a problem.
Anything I make (papercraft-wise) I sign Ello on it. Not sure why (other then it's the last four letters of my name in reverse) but I do. Been doing that for a few years now. That's just my "mark" I guess.

Other random info that at some point might be useful: shoe size 7 US, t-shirt size M or L
I like a lot of Christian music such as Casting Crowns, Sara Groves, Michael W. Smith, Reliant K, Chris Tomlin, and so many more I can't even think of. When I listen to music it's usually either through youtube or myspace and I just let each song lead me to another.
I also like relaxation music...you know the type with nature sounds like the ocean, or a thunderstorm, or a winding stream. I'll list more as I think of some.
My all time favorite song (the one that touches my soul every time I hear it) is Angel on my Shoulder by Natalie Cole.
I'm also really enjoying music termed as indie rock though I have no specific favorite bands at the moment.
ER, House, Gray's Anatomy, Dr G: Medical Examiner, CSI, Little People Big World, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, What Not to Wear, All in the Family, Jon and Kate plus 8, almost any medical documentary, How Clean is Your House
Unfortunately for me I no longer have cable and the 3 channels we do get don't come in all that well...so I don't watch much tv these days.
Under the Overpass by Mike Yankoski (I am always open to extra copies of this book so I can share it with others), the Bible, when I used to read a lot more I like most anything that was medical suspense...so books by Dean Koontz and Robin Cook were always near the top of the list although to be honest I am kind of tired of them now. There's a few books by Sophie Kinsella I'd still like to read...I've finished all the Shopaholic series ones now but she has a few others. Trying to read more inspirational, feel-good and Christian type books lately but just haven't gotten into the reading mood lately.
Gosh, I'm a sucker for Disney and Warner Brothers Movies.
I love Shrek.
I also like Freedom Writers, The Holiday, August Rush, I am Sam, The Soloist.
I like most movies with Robin Williams, especially Patch Adams.
Grease, Now and Then, Turner and Hooch to name a few more.
I like Girl Interrupted but I have to be aware of the mood I'm in when I watch it because sometimes I find it brings me down.
I really like Juno and The Ultimate Gift.
I also like The Ring, Final Destination, 28 Days Later and movies like that. It really just depends on the mood I'm in and if there's anyone else watching the movie too. I tend to let others pick their choice first but I'm really kind of getting tired of the chick flicks.
I like doing collages, abstract painting with acrylic or tole paints. I have done some beadwork and would like to do some again soon. I'd like to try embossing but haven't had the opportunity or the finances to try that. I'd like to learn how to knit and sew at some point but it just hasn't happened yet. I do some rug hooking but it's taking me a very long time to get through one project. I tend to work on it for a bit, lose interest for a few months and then eventually go back to it. At that rate it's taking me years. LOL. I also like playing around with chalk pastels. I've tried scrapbooking and loved it but can't get myself motivated to sit down and do any. I love scrapbooking decals and goodies though...I'm always drawn to them at Michael's when I go. I have started making ATC's...well, just a few. I guess I'm still a little worried the quality might not be good enough...possibly true or possibly just a fear of mine. I'm also looking forward to seeing other swappers creations. Basically, I will try most things but I tend to get obsessed for a bit and then bored very quickly.
I want to try just about everything craft-wise but I really need hands on instruction to help me actually sit down and do it. I have a hard time focusing.
I do have allergies, but nothing that I think would cause a major problem (except maybe very strong scents). If I got anything I couldn't use I would pass it on to someone else. No worries.
I am allergic to cigarette smoke though and would prefer nothing heavily smoky as I don't know anyone I can pass that on to. But most times by the time stuff goes through the post it's usually not so bad anyway.
For those allergic to cats, there shouldn't be any problem unless I work on something while I'm at my parents house. I am also allergic to cats (and dogs...actually most animal fur/dander for that matter) quite severely but if a couple stray hairs get in the package it's not a big deal to me. I love animals with a passion and if I wasn't so allergic to them I'd work them as a career.

In no particular order:
rennet tablets so I can try to make junket http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junket_(dessert))...i think when you click on the link you will need to the add the end parenthesis manually to get the right article...sorry. I can't get these where I'm from.
something you made, such as an ATC, matchbox, postcard, knit dishcloth, dottee doll, etc
lapel pins (especially ones from Hard Rock Cafe, or that are touristy, or support firefighters, police, paramedics AND I love, love, love all the Vancouver 2010 Olympic pins especially the mascot ones!) ~previously owned are fine
other weird and wacky snack foods and candy that I can't get here (to my knowledge). Think Japanese kit kat bars, chocolates, chips, I will try most anything once no matter how weird it is...as long as it's a snack food. LOL. I love (LOVE) curry chocolate...found a curry coconut chocolate bar at a store in Toronto called Pistachio's....now I am wanting it all the time.
